Pattern January 2021 - Joyless January

The max of 60 for this month is the second coldest ever . Second to 1977, anyone who complains about a torch now has no legs to stand on . This is so anomalous it skewed the mean maximum for the last 30 years down by an entire degree . 10/10 we hit 80 in January next year .
 
Helluva storm last night. More lightening than is usual for winter thunderstorms and the wind was wicked. Even got the extreme rain on the tempest which is hard to do outside of summer.

They're sticking to their guns as of 6:30. Said to expect 60s-70s. I will say this is about the most interested I've been in a wedge in a while lol

Yep still supposed to warm up. It may have been better for the wedge front to stay south last night though, to keeps those storms from being stronger. With 60 degree temps and dewpoints, those storms from around midnight through 3 am could have been much worse.

What’s odd is if you read their discussion, they make no mention of the NAM holding the wedge in and the much cooler temperatures.
 
Around here I should be around 50 degrees already but I am still holding on to 45 degrees and a stout NE wind. You can actually see a little more cold air funneling down into Spartanburg and Cherokee counties as well. I think those along and east of highway 25 in Greenville county will likely be in the wedge for the remainder of the day.

Mhx has me with a high of 61 today but the brand new 3k nam only gets me to 51 and the hrrr is upper 40s. That's 10 full degrees below forecast.
 
The 12z NAM is a little colder for upstate SC and keeps the boundary about 20 miles farther south. It also says instead of close to 60 for tomorrow we get up to about 52-53. I noticed Laurens went down 2 degrees from 7 to 8 am so I think it may be time for a forecast change from GSP.

I'm in surf City,,,

(THEY) have Me getting into the Mid-60's / 70F range... I'm still setting @ 51 F & holding.. under Thunder-boomers

No he still hasn't got over being blasted by all those South Charlotte, Union County people when they got at most a slushy half inch when he forecasted 4-8in a few years ago.

How exactly are there no signs? I like Brad, but the EPS has been fairly consistent with something in that time range and has trended more the closer we get... also it’s not exactly in fantasy range anymore

There are plenty of signs. The euro, Canadian, and UK agree. The only model that doesn’t show a sign is the GFS. If the GFS was the only one showing a storm would he be honking it? No.
