January 11th-12th Southern Slider

Sleet on this HRRR run is very close to me.
Still hard for me to see this and believe I'm NOT getting snow. It looks like a lock; I'd take it every time. If only the high stayed over top of that low...

Is the low trending a bit further south each HRRR run or is that me not seeing it right?

The NAM wasn’t impressive, so I’m hoping the HRRR is in the right. RGEM is almost to our timeframe

Hard to not look at a frame like that and not think that 9 times out of 10, we'd also be dancing in NC.
I was thinking the same exact thing. Such a shame. However, GSP does mention a small chance of a mix Mon night for MBY.

My son lives just outside Austin TX and he sent me some pics of their snow this afternoon. He measured 3" on his deck and still coming down. Biggest event in 16 yrs... if they get 1.5 more inches will be the biggest event in 35 yrs.
To put things into perspective, Austin is at the same latitude as Jacksonville, FL. Good luck ever getting that much snow in Jacksonville ! I guess Austin's 500' elevation is why they get more snow than Jacksonville.

Yeah I'm driving back and wow the snow cutoff was uglyyyyy it went from amazing to meh real fast

Okay it's not zero here in Waxahachie but it's barely a dusting

The models were pretty consistent in showing a sharp cutoff on the northern edge.

If there was one thing they got wrong, it's that they were a bit too warm with the thermals.

EDIT: I just hope you can one day experience a real snowstorm in your actual backyard.

And the Rockys help funnel the cold air down.
