GEFS. imo the precursor to cold is already beginning to happen under 240hr. EPO flips for us and is followed by a flip of the AO. Cold coming. How long will it last? Not sure. But our window should be here around peak climo which is all you can ask for

Slowly but steadily the EPS may be leading us somewhere this time. 1/3 to 1/6 potential for a system is growing. We still have got several more days to go to really get somewhere, but EPS is steady as she goes for now. Especially encouraging to see all the Deep South ensemble member hits.

Purely for entertainment purposes at this range, but quite a few of those EPS big hits were beefy Miller As - exactly what you'd expect with the upper jet structure in the mean.

The latest Euro model runs were glorious! I've got my fingers and toes crossed that a good old fashioned Miller A can bring the goods for snow starved people of Central North Carolina like me. There is a long way to go before the first week of January arrives but at least we are looking at something in the works.
