4-6” with locally 8” totals along 85 from NE Georgia through the upstate and into Charlotte look to be a good bet at this point. Combination of a front plus a slow moving tropical system just tells you we’re going to get those high end totals.

12z GFS looks pretty close to 6z
It’s going to be close. Especially along that wedge boundary, which could fluctuate north or south.

The King still looks beefed up on the rain.
Wow, that run has under half an inch here. GFS and Euro sure have caved to the NAM the last 24 hours. Last night it was 6-8 inches and now here we are. Saw this coming from a mile away.
I don't think it caved, its just adjusting to a slower system and a trajectory of further east.

I like it! I do see the slow south movement of the 4in areas but looks to have increased within the city and up 85 or actually due East towards Athens. Maybe we finally get the Hwy 78 special but with rain.

The eastward trend never fails. Let’s try to remember this going into winter. Lol.

No change from me. I’m thinking very little rains. But sure gonna rain further south around Georgia. I’m thinking 1” here I think is possible with less further north into the blue ridge of Virginia.

Looks like there are not quite going with the higher totals of the Euro. 3-4 inches with some spots at 5-6 along I-85.

Yea 3-5in has been the safe bet for awhile and that’s what TWC has been showing.

Outside of Alabama and Mississippi, Atlanta and Charlotte look to be at risk for quite a bit of flooding. I remember Hurricane Florence roughly dropped about ~10” in Charlotte and it brought severe flooding.

18z 3km NAM shifting the rainfall a little north. Widespread 4-6 inch totals in north Georgia with locally higher amounts.

Worth noting to that the NAMs have ticked north a bit with that boundary, it’s getting close to CLT
Well regardless of us getting some nasty storms, we can pretty much guarantee that Charlotte will have some significant flooding issues. Especially being that close to the boundary.

Same I feel like CLT is far enough NW that severe won't be that much of an issue at all compared to the flooding.

Agreed. Though it wouldn’t shock me to see a rouge severe storm or 2 making their way somewhere in the area. But flooding yes. If I lived on a river bank, I’d be investing in some sandbags, at the very least.
