I'm expecting somewhere around ~6" in South Charlotte. I'm a little scarred from Florence when we received about 7-10" and was placed under a Flash Flood Emergency due to horrible flooding. Hopefully this forecast busts!
Great read, but the last sentence was a bit of a letdown..Two things I’m noticing on the radar right now when you look at the whole SE. First of all, Sally is beginning to take on the classic look of an inland Gulf tropical cyclone with the shield of heavy rain to the north of the center. Second in the last several hours you can really see the showers start to develop along the wedge boundary in the SC midlands...as that boundary lifts northwest towards the eastern SC Upstate and SE NC Piedmont, it should be a focal point of at least moderate rain through much of the night.
for this to be in more stable air, that’s some impressive rotation, tornado warnings to the south for the surface based stuff View attachment 48845View attachment 48846
Wow, Sally is producing snow with 73 F at Dalton, GA! 2020 rolls along!

I’m at 1/2” already and the main part hasn’t gotten here.Glen Burns gonna bust bad. 2-4 inches is a lock for ATL.

Probably get that look 2-3 times this winter! Sleet in GSP S of 85, Sleet in Concord! ?Speaking of snow... I’m sure all snow lovers in northern GA, Upstate SC, and NC Piedmont and foothills would love to see a radar looking like this sometime this winter with about a 1038mb sitting over Pennsylvania with a good Northeast snowpack.View attachment 48849
Where is he getting this from??? This doesn’t line up with any of the models that I’ve seen even the drier ones for that area, and it’s not even close to the WPC guidance. The fact that he may be about to bust by 4-6 inches

Pretty sure its straight model output from some in-house model.Where is he getting this from??? This doesn’t line up with any of the models that I’ve seen even the drier ones for that area, and it’s not even close to the WPC guidance.
Those in house models are always way too dry. I remember Brad P showing his in house model for Florence and just said flat out that it was wrong on amounts. I think for my place it was only showing 2-3 inches when the WPC guidance was 10-12... I ended up with 16.5.Pretty sure its straight model output from some in-house model.
Ridiculous

Yeah, I just have no idea what else it would beThat's one crappy in-house model... Yeesh!
Absolutely!!! The next 36-48 hours will be nasty, but when we are enjoying sunshine, 70 degrees and low humidity this weekend, it will feel great. I honestly don’t remember the last time we had any true fall weather this early with how freakin hot September and early Octobers have been latelyWell, we can kiss any threat of a Sept/Oct drought, goodbye! That will get us into low cape/high shear severe weather season in November. I don't know about you all, but I am happy to be entering fall with no drought. And what should be average fall temps. Couldn't ask for anything more!
Dang, Buford must be getting the shaft. Only got .25 back home so far.Only .61 here. TWC says 1-2in tonight and 2-3in tomorrow.... ok. Kinda sucks all the heavy rains will come down while I’m sleeping.
It’s been hit and miss up here all night. Looks like the heavy stuff will be here in a few hrs.Dang, Buford must be getting the shaft. Only got .25 back home so far.

This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen, even if there is a slither of accuracy in there, just ridiculous. Tick tock birdman tick tockHere’s what I’m thinking..two purple box areas could see 4 to 6”. In the yellow middle closer to 2-4”. North of there 1-3”. Just a rough outline..won’t be exact. Just for the Carolinas and Virginia. View attachment 48853
I think we are gonna see 3-Dang, Buford must be getting the shaft. Only got .25 back home so far.

Looks like Glenn Burns totals is gonna be a bust on the amount of rain I still think it will be more than what he is predicting.. 3-5 is a good bet above Atlanta and 4 to 6 south..Most of the heavy rain is well north of sally. And looking at the radar there is a lot of heavy rain coming straight north and it will pouringNW trend.... just practicing
