...DORIAN PRODUCING DANGEROUS WINDS, STORM SURGE, AND FLOODING
ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE CAROLINA...

NOAA buoy 41004 recently measured sustained winds of 67 mph (108
km/h) and a gust to 83 mph (133 km/h) in the southern eyewall of
Dorian.

The Weatherflow site in Winyah Bay, SC, recently reported a
sustained wind of 54 mph (87 km/h) and a wind gust of 65 mph (105
km/h) at a height of 50 ft.

A wind gust of 55 mph (89 km/h) was recently reported at a
Weatherflow site in Georgetown, SC, and a gust of 52 mph (84 km/h)
recently reported by a Weatherflow site at Murrells Inlet, SC.

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
Central Johnston County in central North Carolina...

* Until 500 PM EDT

* At 422 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Smithfield, moving west at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
Smithfield, Benson, Selma, Four Oaks, Pine Level and Coats
Crossroads.
 
The current tornado watch in NC expires at 7:00 pm. Wonder if they will issue another one or extend it. Still have a ways to go before Dorian gets past NC.

Got to be closing in on 2" at the house.
 
Already at 0.85" at my location ITB Raleigh. I'll take it given that many (most?) models had far less for the entire event.

KLTX really overshooting the center, wonder if this is intentional.

Trees significantly attenuating the radar beam to the south. Have to select a higher elevation angle (Tilt 2 or above) to get full reflectivity.

Surprised they haven't taken a saw to those trees yet.
