...CATASTROPHIC CATEGORY 5 DORIAN MAKES LANDFALL ON ELBOW CAY IN THE
ABACOS...

Data from an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft and
satellite data indicate that Dorian has made landfall at 1240 pm
EDT (1640 UTC) in Elbow Cay, Abacos. The winds have increased
to 185 mph (295 km/h) with the minimum central pressure falling to
911 mb (26.90 inches).

Whereas 12z CMC is further east than 0Z near FL/GA and up to lower SC, it is further west and scrapes NC vs 0Z which was clearly offshore.

Wow.

Thanks, Chris. It is going to be a race and just so the readers are clear on this, the latest available, the 12Z you posted, is already 5 hours old.
very true...site is a little slower to update, but will when it is. I think biggest thing is it actually looks to be maintaining its speed right now. Anyone have a close up view of model plots??

Related to this, does anyone have a link they will share to closeup satellite loops with latitude and longitude lines? I looked in our wiki and also I've been googling like crazy and can't find any. Thanks in advance.

Just a little mind bender, if Dorian took the track left of PR and as a result formed more slowly, it would likely be bearing down on southern FL right now at full strength.
