Actually makes it into the gulf before turning northward.

Btw: seems as if they had a problem with an earlier mission, but like said above, they have two different planes heading in now. It'll be interesting to see where we're at now.

It actually went west this run versus last. It's the only model that has slowly been going more and more west.
 
Interesting thing about the 18Z ICON. Is it did the exact same thing yesterday on it's 18Z run it took him into the gulf just like it did on that run today. While all the rest of the runs yesterday just like today were not as far West into the gulf. So it makes me wonder if it has something to do with that particular hour run.
 
so driving ... in plain ol southern english ... gfs 18z is doing what - up the coats, up the state, ots? plan to pull off and look in a while but now is not cool, so any quick summary most appreciated ...

Slightly east of 12z. Still on land but following trend so far.
