Pattern Hotober

2" so far here today, and still raining.

5" for the month so far

2.22 in the rain gauge today....up to 6.96 for the month. My yard is like a swamp here in the upstate !!!
My yard is still a desert! 1.3” for the month! Big difference from here to the upslope locations, especially so with snow

You need to get a new gauge! Lol how is that possible? I'm already over an inch today and 4.5 for the month and I'm usually one of the drier locations!

GSP total was only .76 at 5 o’clock news, per Johnny C, I’m a good bit S of that, all the heavy precip has been N and W of 85. Looks like Franklin NC getting crushed all day, here not so much

After the 5 inch gully washer, I gambled I'd get gentle rains for a while, and put out grass seed on Friday. This morning after pretty much light rain the whole time since Fri, and mild air, this morning I could see some seed had sprouted. By the afternoon both yards I seeded were green, lol. Best timing ever for throwing out seed :) Both yards are on an incline, so I couldn't take another gully washer. Hopefully the roots will get sunk in good before the next squall line dam buster or gom low bucket dumper.

...FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM EDT
FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Sub-freezing temperatures in the lower 30s expected, with
temperatures falling as low as the upper-20s in the higher
elevations.

* WHERE...Portions of north central, northeast, northwest and
west central Georgia.

* WHEN...From 11 PM this evening to 10 AM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent
freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should
be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have
in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-
ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

It's just crazy when realize we were all baking in near century mark heat near the beginning of the month. Now some of us are getting our first freeze warnings.

1.77" from this system, and 7.80" for the month so far. More to come tonight in this squall line. I've received more rain this month, really last 3 weeks, than i received all July (2.31), August(1.60), and September(0.97) combined.
