From those mPing reports it’s probably just virga. Beam is lower closer to the radar site, so precip isn’t making it quite to the surface.
Still funny looking though.
In the Jan 3-4 2018 storm that actually happened in Raleigh and it wasn't due to beam height, we legit got dry slotted and it was comically horrible
Thick snow as opposed to thin snow ? Never heard snow described as thick ?We are getting snow here. A nice, thick snow
Probably more like big heavy snow vs that tiny poop I always get.Thick snow as opposed to thin snow ? Never heard snow described as thick ?
This. Plus, its sticking to everything.Probably more like big heavy snow vs that tiny poop I always get.
You still talking about the snow,or ??Did someone say January 11’?
all time favorite right there. Best powder I’ve ever seen around here. 7-8” with just a smidge of backend ZR. Money shot
I could blow it out of the palm of my hand like a pixie stick.
If snow is overrated why do you constantly post snow pics ?Snow is overrated! Still 6” on the ground! Made it to 31 degrees today. Going on 100 hours below freezing ?View attachment 58215View attachment 58216
Hahah seriously. We get it. You live in Iowa.If snow is overrated why do you constantly post snow pics ?
I agree it might be the only snow we see@Tarheel1 post as many snow pics as you want! Don’t let everyone discourage you from posting here!
All of this snow falls within 14 hours in Albany, NY, just let that sink in for a second. 3 feet of snow in 14 hours, that's an average of almost 3"/hr for over half a day. Excuse me while I try to teleport myself there.
Already sleeting in Bethlehem, PA, where Cantore is! Whoops
This is what happens when you sip Hennessy on a snow high as a weenie, @LukeBarrette helped me find this ?
He finally didn’t jinx his self.... that’s the final form of 2020 right thereThe ultimate weenie. Hard not to love him.
You have to smell the sleet to get the snow.Already sleeting in Bethlehem, PA, where Cantore is! Whoops
That’s the same reaction I have when I see 7 snow flakes. He finally didn’t jinx his self.... that’s the final form of 2020 right there
Sounds like a overperformer in the SE nowadays, take that down a littleThat’s the same reaction I have when I see 7 snow flakes.
I remember that storm. I actually had to do a manual analysis of it for my synoptic course this fall. Just went back and looked- you could practically see the dry slot on satellite:

He might have a thunder sleet trouser explosion. When you try to set up shop and straddle the line sometimes you get burnt. I should know. I built my house on the line.Already sleeting in Bethlehem, PA, where Cantore is! Whoops

The west extent of the accumulating snow with this storm got to within 5 miles of my house in Union County. 15 miles east of me had a little over 2 inches. The following night I had a low of 2 degrees at my house... if I had any snow cover I would have easily been sub zero... the closest I have been to getting a sub zero temp since January 1985
Wow. I have relatives near there and didn't know they were having a Kocin Uccelleni becs storm. Quite jealous right now!
And under flood lights....That’s the same reaction I have when I see 7 snow flakes.
