Shift the blue colors 50 miles north and roll with it...

Pretty stout -AO going strong into February. With a rise of the PNA in that time frame it's probably a good window of opportunity for those further south.

Looks like a genuine cold front with some genuine cold air from the great white north. Not sold on the snow chances just yet. May just be frontal wetness unless a low system forms here and takes a slow ride

In my mind these are the looks you watch the most closely. The GFS sniffed this out a few days ago and then lost it. Now it’s back. Not saying that this is going to happen but there is a signal. About the strongest one we’ve had these parts.

ah!! One of the BEST, or damn near close setups the central and southern portions of the South (I-20 and south) can score a nice snow with followed by an Arctic airmass!! Euro has almost the same setup (synoptically) as this run of the GFS did.

That will progress eastward and be fairly close to GFS. Gfs might rush it a bit. But that will push east for sure.
