One thing for sure, it ain’t cutting north with a 1045 HP over iowa.If only the run wasn’t about to end. View attachment 69588View attachment 69589

That high is locked in with the -NAO. If ever the EMCF were right on day 10, let this be the time! One thing for sure, it ain’t cutting north with a 1045 HP over iowa.
That has to be the most beautiful setup for a Southern board wide storm I've seen in a long time. You can't beat a low like that with a strong high in a position like that.If only the run wasn’t about to end. View attachment 69588View attachment 69589
Gonna add some climo perspectives since everyone is going Gaga over barney. The last sub 25 high in rdu for the month of January was in 1988. For the month of February it was in 2015. However, they have happened only 9 times in over 130 years for the month of February . Let alone 2 back to back days .This is as warm as it gets this day on the Euro......keeps a lot of us under freezing ( hell under 25) for 2 days.......impressive....

Heck it’s day 7 right now actuallyThat high is locked in with the -NAO. If ever the EMCF were right on day 10, let this be the time!
When you have a 1037 meso sitting just north of Winston you know you’re in good shape.
Damn we’ve made some incredible medium range adjustments View attachment 69567
LOL, out east of Atlanta here so while the day 7 feature has my attention, it's the end of the run that has meHeck it’s day 7 right now actually

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but normally when we get that cross polar flow with vodka cold, everything is suppressed so far south. It also seems when that cold comes it is a very dry air mass and any QPF that makes it into the area has to saturate the column and we end up seeing virga.

100% of the time.Holy moly 540 dm heights over Greenland and Baffin Island, gotta love that. If the Euro is right about that Baja low then I will take my chances with suppression.
100% of the time.
