Good North Carolina winter storm on this one.
That's funny, I was thinking it could speed up and give us some nice overrunning instead of a big system.
AH hah! Thanks. My eyesight has gone to Hell. That's a "3" not a five lol

Shawn posted this list of the biggest Columbia storms previously (I added the low track) and has emphasized the 2nd week in Feb. to be more climo favored for a big snowstorm than other weeks. Note how clumped are the 5 storm dates that are bolded! Something somewhat similar can be found for a number of other SE US locations. Note the lack of any for the 1st week of Feb. for whatever reason;
HERE ARE THE TOP 10 SNOW EVENTS FOR COLUMBIA with low track added:
16.0 INCHES...FEBRUARY 9-10 1973: C FL
11.8 INCHES...FEBRUARY 11-14 1899: C FL
11.7 INCHES...FEBRUARY 25-26 1914: C FL
11.3 INCHES...FEBRUARY 24-25 1894: C FL
8.8 INCHES...DECEMBER 10-11 1958: C FL
8.6 INCHES...FEBRUARY 12-13 2010: C FL
8.5 INCHES...FEBRUARY 11-12 1895: N FL
8.1 INCHES...FEBRUARY 10-11 1912: N FL
6.3 INCHES...FEBRUARY 23 1901: N FL
6.2 INCHES...JANUARY 29-30 1936: N FL
while others have been in the 7th -10th timeframe.......You have been posting on every single run for the past 3 days the 10th thru the 13th.... LOL
No, I said 10th-13th (maybe sooner or later). I said that a few days ago. Timing will change. The reason why I've been saying 10th-13th is because I don't think a system will come right after the 5th-6th system.you had been saying after this time period

Not you - the models - missed me by a 5 hour drive :~(Did I miss something?

Which is starting right after the 5th-6th system exits. I think the second system will start coming about 7th-9th...getting in here by the 10th or so. I just don't think that second system will get in here by the 7th or 8th. I'm trying to think of realistic timing windows.lol this one starts the 7th![]()

you just said you didn't think it comes right after the 6th . now your saying it starts around the 7th . lolWhich is starting right after the 5th-6th system exits. Would you rather see a poor track like the first system has had for days? It's had a consistent poor track.hate seeing such a good low track 8 days out .....

Shawn,
What happened to your post of 1"+ SN at CAE? I was about to reply to it to say that it only reinforced how active the 2nd week of Feb. has been with another 3 from then making 8 from the 2nd week! I did see one added for 2/6, making it the only one for the 1st week for 1"+ vs 8 for the 2nd week!
I'd rather see that track 5 days in . we all know this track won't hold for the next week . plus we don't even know the gfs is right with the day 5/6 system. the euro and eps is way south .Would you rather see a poor track like the first system has had for days? It's had a consistent poor track.
that's the whole point. why the hell would anyone get too excited about the day 8-10 system when the first one is bouncing all over the damn placeWe aren't even in 5 days for the first system and people have already discounted it.
Completely agree.that's the whole point. why the hell would anyone get too excited about the day 8-10 system when the first one is bouncing all over the damn place
