It’s 21 degrees here in Roanoke with clouds building in. Might get some flakes??
Mets can’t go with the “we just didn’t know” argument. RGEM has been honking since Friday. Everywhere in NC that it showed advisory level ZR has just about verified

Don’t notice any icing here in SW Durham, though I suppose it’s possible we had some marginal icing earlier earlier this morning. RDU is currently 34, though being 15 miles WNW, I think it’s plausible it could be a degree or two colder here.

Despite surface temperatures warming about a half degree looks like glaze had increased some in tree tops.

Probably no cloud cover in northwest Georgia so they had good radiational cooling over night.
Someone more familiar with that area can probably chime in but it looks in vis that the area in the NW has more radiational cooling due to clear skies longer last night/this morning and the warm tongue is the edge of cloud cover that held temps up. It didn't cool as much as to the east b/c the CAD wasn't strong enough to force cold dry air further w/nw. Also probably has something to do with being at base of Apps but I may be completely off on that
Quite icy around my area. Nothing earth shattering, but ice covering cars, decks, bushes, etc. My travel to work in Winston-Salem was ok, but there were many wrecks. Of course, many people going way to fast not realizing the bridges were icy.
