I’m in western York county, hoping to get involved on this! Today we had huge flakes for a good hour or two with some accumulation on trees and a little grass. Would love to see something over a half inch atleast
Definitely one of the craziest storms I remember from a forecasting perspective and snowfall event. Feel like events like this almost always bust low with mixing or other factors but looking outside and seeing these still impressive snowfall rates is crazy.
This looks mean. Got 0.5” still sitting on the ground with on and off snow showers and slow melting. Wonder if we can eclipse 2” in spots tomorrow

Down here at the coast, we hit 32 a couple hours ago and the trees have since iced up pretty quickly. Starting to see some sleet mix in too so that is a good sign, we really weren’t supposed to see much of anything.
For NC, this is the second consecutive storm where the warm nose has been over forecasted. If you remember the January storm, I was pretty worried we would end up with a lot of sleet and we stayed with a nice powdery snow throughout the event.

Those kinda remind me of those snow showers that the Mid Atlantic gets whenever an arctic front goes over the lakes lol

31.1/27.9, my street already looks like it's iced over. Tomorrow might legit be dangerous for traffic
I'm thinking about 2.5'' here about 4 miles E of RDU. Can't see but just a few blades of grass. Hoping for more so I don't see any.

It's 26 at my house and the snow is still coming down. I took a walk in the woods behind my house earlier which I have loved to do during a snowstorm since I was a child. It's a peaceful feeling being alone among the trees with a carpet of white to tread on.

Back snowing here
Still snowing moderately, but I see the back edge of the heaver stuff getting near. Hopefully we can get some light snow overnight before the secondary band comes through tomorrow. Here's a last pic of the kids car:

Exactly. Heading out for a dog walk in a bit. Nothing like a peaceful, snowy walk. I'm glad the sleet has held off so far--that turns a good walk into a frustrating one very quickly.

Went for a walk on NC State’s campus and it’s gorgeous. Snow football outside the student union
