Well congrats to you NC guys for seeing the now. As usual; I am outside looking in and very jealous. Enjoy!
snowglobe fever rates with wind, almost looks like a blizzard outside.Absolutely puking once again in North Durham. Everything turning white, including the roads. Easily over an inch now.
Technically, I think warning criteria is 3” here? Good chance someone in the county is going to at least make that (and maybe the whole county), so I tend to agree. Plus the timing with rush hour, regardless of whether it technically meets warning criteria, is also notable. So what is it going to take to put Durham/Orange Counties in a Winter Storm Warning? The NWS in Raleigh has been stingy with the winter storm warnings. It took until this morning to get Wake under one and I am surprised they didn't include Durham and Orange. So what is it going to take to put Durham/Orange Counties in a Winter Storm Warnin
Yeah, it’s shocking actually, it’s puking out Snow right now and the roads are almost completely covered. The NWS in Raleigh has been stingy with the winter storm warnings. It took until this morning to get Wake under one and I am surprised they didn't include Durham and Orange.
Not seeing the rotation yet but big chunk of energy consolidating out there.Hoping to see radar start to pivot as the coastal takes over soon. Would love to see it snow at least through sundown. Getting uncomfortably close to the edge from what I can tell, though maybe I’m just paranoid.
Just south of you in Chatham still all snowJust read a report of sleet in Garner over at the other site, so the warm nose might be moving north. Let’s hope it doesn’t get too far…
Lots of accidents on I40 as well. Scanner traffic is very bad. It's ripping right now.Almost 2in on my snowboard. Sounds like a bad pile up on I85 per Scanner in Orange County.
i wont be able to go outside to measure til i finish this work call, but i am guessing im past the 1.5 inch mark here in NE Durham near Falls Lake1.4 inches in North Durham. Continues to rip snow here.
Hope it is headed to Raleigh, slowed down here quite a bit even though radar looks goodSnow globe level in Cary right now
Yeah, this thing is juiced. Only thing keeping this from being a big dog for us is that it isn’t going to last long enough, but what else is new?Have to admit I’m shocked at the rates right now in Cary (Hwy 55 & High House). I had low expectations after yesterday
What are you thinking for tomorrow morning? GSP mentioned in their discussion that right now it appears the CLT area has the best chance of heavy bandingProbably starting to get close to half an inch of snow on grassy surfaces, it’s still coming down hard. Seems shallow as well as higher tilts isn’t picking up on it but TCLT is
