Wintry Feb. 19-20

The NWS in Raleigh mentioned the upper low that will come through tomorrow morning in their latest update and said it could dump anywhere from a dusting to another inch on top of what we are receiving now. That's more than I expected looking at some of the model images this morning.
Here’s what the 18z hrrr just showed for the ULL.

Yeah, it strikes me as a deal where most of us will get a dusting but a few spots will luck into an inch and maybe a very few could even see more significant amounts. But impossible to predict so I wouldn’t put too much hope into it since it’ll most likely be a nothingburger in any given spot. Modeling seems to favor the CLT area more, which historically makes sense. They love scoring on ULLs. They may suck at big storms lately, but not with these.

can i just say im so happy for our CLT friends here?? the past couple days, i was feeling quite optimistic about my spot in the NE quadrant of the triangle - and am glad that optimism wasn't misguided - but i was feeling bummed for the Charlotte area folks as it looked like even half an inch might not be viable. so happy it is ripping there for yall!

The yellow bands on radar are the bomb. Chicken feathers and visibility drops under 1/4 mile. That's what you look for.
Need packfan to recruit us some down at the homesteads while Im up here at work
Flakes have gotten smaller here. Looks like 3/4”. We are on the NW edge and I’m not sure exactly where the radar will backbuild and pivot with the coastal development. Hrrr says we stay in moderate returns the next 4 hours. Regardless, I call it a win. @Myfrotho704_ are those returns down your way going to make it this far north up I-85?

2:45pm update…coming down pretty good, at least moderate, maybe heavy snow. Untreated roads are starting to cave but they are fighting it off like a furnace in some of the sunnier areas still. Hoping we can verify 2-4”.

EDIT: The spot of road there has gotten noticeably whiter in the few minutes since I snapped that, hah!
