When I worked in DC the FGs in DCA had breakfast and people would order 2 patties add bacon and Xtra cheese on that buttery bread AND fries.. and they literally filled the bag 3/4 with fries... I mean that was clogged arteries in a bag if ever!!Great burgers and fries!
Five guys hack: when you go, order a grill cheese, add a party or add two patties if you’re hungry and all your regular toppings and this will get you the grilled cheese, with its buttery bread, and all the cheese, with burger patties! It’s delicious
I know.... just read between the blurry lines of my post friendThere’s some in concord. Afton ridge area, near Carolina mall, off 29 not far from frank liske park, Carolina mall itself

Overrated garbage they areChic-fil-a is the best. Ate there last night. They have a great spicy chicken!
Man, me and my buddies used to tear up some Sonnys back in college. Sliced pork and tons of sweat tea. I miss them.Concord does have a Sonnys BBQ still, ?
Bojangles can be really good. It's hit or miss on location. That's where chic fila owns them.Bojangles is better than Chick Fil A, fight me!
I’ve been to Garys! Real goodYep. Have you ever been to Gary's bbq in China Grove? It rivals Speedys in Lexington.
My wife was so excited Showmars announced they were opening at Afton. We moved like two months before they opened. There’s some in concord. Afton ridge area, near Carolina mall, off 29 not far from frank liske park, Carolina mall itself
They always had something that was all u could eat, and that garlic toast! ?Man, me and my buddies used to tear up some Sonnys back in college. Sliced pork and tons of sweat tea. I miss them.
Showmars has a spot in Winston now. Buy it took forever for them to get to Concord. I guess they thought the one in University was close enough. My wife was so excited Showmars announced they were opening at Afton. We moved like two months before they opened.
Spicy chicken sandwich?? Or ?Just finished off some Popeye's
I love Gastonia (Belmont) again, shout out to RO’s BBQ and Twin Tops fishcamp!Backyard Burger!! They are big in TN but they have a spot in Raleigh and in Gastonia and recently opened in Harrisburg beside the new Chase Bank location. Tasty. Good hot dogs but their menu is a bit $$ imo.
Just good 'ol fried chicken, wings and thighsSpicy chicken sandwich?? Or ?
I’ve never had their regular chicken, am I missing anything?Just good 'ol fried chicken, wings and thighs
Yeah their fried chickenI’ve never had their regular chicken, am I missing anything?
It's not only better tasting it's so much crispier to me, I like to know I'm eating fried chicken when I bite into fried chickenYeah popeyes fried chicken is the best around. Takes Bojangles to the woodshed
I wish CFA would bring back their cole slaw! I used to always get that along with waffle fries and a sandwich.I had the Chick-fil-A Cobb salad with spicy chicken strips at lunch I have to say it was the bomb and it was the best salad that I've had in a long time. You can't get something that good at Popeyes or Bojangles

I second this about Backyard, and I'm lucky enough to be near the Raleigh location. Never had a burger that wasn't delicious, and their fries are excellent as well.Backyard Burger!! Yep make sure you pick up a livermush sandwich at Dale's down by the Belmont tunnel. If you know Belmont, you know where Dale's is located.I love Gastonia (Belmont) again, shout out to RO’s BBQ and Twin Tops fishcamp!
Dales superette? Right on the riverYep make sure you pick up a livermush sandwich at Dale's down by the Belmont tunnel. If you know Belmont, you know where Dale's is located.
I remember their milkshakes being really good.I second this about Backyard, and I'm lucky enough to be near the Raleigh location. Never had a burger that wasn't delicious, and their fries are excellent as well.
Sonny's is a bbq chain. I guess growing up in rural Rowan County its a strange concept to me. Nascar fans ask "who's your driver?", bbq lovers kinda do the same as we argue over the best bbq spot. ...people who like bbq have a true allegiance to usually just one bbq spot.Count me in as another that really liked Sonnys.
It's been a while. Maybe I should go back if I run into it.
Scott’s Walk Up is my go to in Cartersville. Sonny’s was just nice because you could rely on it on a road trip when they were more widespread.Sonny's is a bbq chain. Mama's, lol mom still cooks some mean fried chickenClarification, Popeyes chicken sandwich is the best around. The best. I love it and will drive to Concord or Hickory to get it on occasion (or when I'm in the general area I'll be sure to stop). Used to have one in Mooresville but it closed when I moved up here.
However I think Publix fried chicken is the best that I've tasted. I'm sure there's some local places that have good chicken, but Publix being widely available is the best overall IMO.
And only one style is TRUE bbq. That would be eastern NC style. The rest is just pork with some weird sauce on it.Sonny's is a bbq chain. One things for sure I do not like the mustard based barbecue in South Carolina.Good excuse for a map.
I'm in the "light tomato" area but we have always used vinegar and pepper .... dang now I want a chopped plate so bad!!Good excuse for a map.
That is the GOSPEL right there! And only one style is TRUE bbq. That would be eastern NC style. The rest is just pork with some weird sauce on it.
Yep, best livermush sandwiches in town.Dales superette? Right on the river
Agreed. I think the eastern and lexington sides should stop arguing up here, and instead go after those heathens down south using mustard. For the good of everything right in the world. One things for sure I do not like the mustard based barbecue in South Carolina.
