It would be nice in terms of seeding our source region. Hopefully, we can get some blocking or some other mechanism to direct the cold into our region.

Unfortunately, the flow looks really sloppy and unstable. Hopefully, we can at least get a cool front to blast through ahead of Christmas.

12Z CFS: No model can cook up a Digital Snow like the CFS: This is next Thursday event
It would be nice to see it move more strongly positive, sharpen up, and connect with the EPO ridge for a time. But I don't think we're going to be that lucky in the near future.
At least it doesn't look like a blazing, unending SE ridge pattern. Maybe the northern mid-atlantic and NE can score.
Only thing wrong with this, it’s the CFS = never right.

The end of the op euro is where we would want to go. I can't count on 2 hands and feet how many times we've seen models rex the west coast at D10/15 thinking we were going to cook but ended up heating some leftovers in the microwave

Southern trough is faster on 0z leading to a zipper low. Not as good as 18z.
Not far from a legit cold shot here. Slow down the retraction and we get another legit shot of cold air. Easily the coldest air of the pattern sitting in Canada

COLD Fridays: Per the OZ Euro next 2 Fridays are getting into vodka Cold territory . Has an Apps Runner for upcoming mid week storm. After that clears I've noticed on the Euro that we keep a NE wind( HP over NY for 3-4 days straight / no moisture, then a lakes low pops in and exits12/20. But you can see another HP getting ready to slide right back into place. That will prevent my area from any absurbed warmup and keep our temps in check. If its correct.
Look at that monster ridge on the Euro there. Mmm hmm. Oh yeah baby!

Unless we run into an extended period of 60s and 70s later this month, it's gonna be hard to not be below normal this month. KCLT is at -9 through four days and we should at least maintain that through the end of the week. I doubt the month ends at -9 but I do feel somewhat confident that this could be the coldest December since 2010.
agreed, worth keeping an eye on for the va boys on the board, systems like these are how we run up our number compared to our nc brethren
The 11th-12th system is getting more interesting by the run. Perhaps for once, we can get a trough to dig a bit more rather than be exaggerated at this lead for a change.
