Lets trend ⬆ with this:
Cold air is available but moisture is the question.

That’s a setup that can produce some nice Convective snow showers if timed right, can see with this ULL that a weak SFC trough forms out ahead, which is actually what forces our summer time storms AA1BF68B-26C0-4DE3-9A6A-CF4668EADF32.png2D86C37B-4538-4EA3-899D-DD1D14C9463E.png

Quadruple phaser fail! The northern stream pieces just end up pinwheeling around each other and slowing down any tilting/intensification. Maybe if it was a bit more consolidated/ dropped down a bit faster... hard to have hope when there aren't any fun snow solutions to look at.

Is that really downsloping winds ?! As in foehn affect winds ? I always associated that with the Rockies and area immediately next to the apps in NC, not all the way down east as well, if so that’s really cool .

Yeah that's absolutely what's happening here, very strong NW flow perpendicular to the terrain coupled w/ synoptic-scale forcing for descent is creating a favorable environment for foehn winds here. They certainly are nothing like their counterparts in the Rockies can be important for forecasters and enthusiasts alike to be aware of. For example, the hottest days around here in the summer usually have W-WNW winds off the Apps.
