I’m confused. How does everything look so good a few days ago and now looks like trash?Yep. We'll punt December (again) get a dry-cold week in Jan and then have to punt again. Tale as old as time. At least last year it was cold on Christmas....we shall see how it shakes out this time.

weather models. It will change everyday.I’m confused. How does everything look so good a few days ago and now looks like trash?
These weather models. For years now it's been like this. Always take long range favorable patterns with a grain of salt until they get inside 7 days. But long range bad patterns and warmth seem to always be correct. ?I’m confused. How does everything look so good a few days ago and now looks like trash?
Yep, give it a few days and we'll all be jumping at joy with the GFS showing a big snow for day 15. But seriously, the indices are not looking bad. PNA now looks to stay positive, the AO looks to average slightly negative (maybe get some cross polar flow), and the NAO looks to average positive (not good but I think it's overrated for us SE folks). --> give me a positive PNA any day...with some cold air on our side of the hemisphereweather models. It will change everyday.
Everything is progressing fine. We are getting lucky that we are mitigating what could have been a really big torchy month. That giant L in AK and the GOA is really part of the catalyst that makes the pattern later goodI’m confused. How does everything look so good a few days ago and now looks like trash?
I think we said that in ‘19, or whenever the cold sat over Alaska the whole winter and we said it has to move sometimes? I think they went a week without snow, then continued to get buried in AK. Seems to be a stubborn pattern once established! ?Everything is progressing fine. We are getting lucky that we are mitigating what could have been a really big torchy month. It can be especially if it's coupled to the strat. It should retrograde eventually which will help retract the pacific jet and start building ridging out west and in Western Canada, or at least that's how I see it going I could be wrongI think we said that in ‘19, or whenever the cold sat over Alaska the whole winter and we said it has to move sometimes? Grilling out sounds better than pipes busting which is what happened last ChristmasPacific jet about to be on mega steroids, the opposite of those fentanyl zombies you see standing up asleep in Charlotte. Who is ready to grill out on Christmas ?
Maybe you're correct about things moving forward. Until the mjo, when that happens, makes it to the colder phases, just lots of kicking cans and chasing unicorns unfortunately. At least it's still early but from experience typically niños are backloadedIt can be especially if it's coupled to the strat. What do we need to see happen to get things shaken up?FYI our only hope (euro weeklies and gefs ext) have been losing our cold/pattern flip for the end of the month into early jan, thanks to the massive jet ext.x.com

Lol I'm good. I mean, it's only 12/8. I think we're solid. Because fortunately, we've never been in a situation where most of December looked bad, but the end of the month into January looked good, only to have to eventually punt that to the end of January into February, only to have to punt that till late March. Oh wait.....Rain Cold,
We need Grit & urself to remain cautiously optimistic.
If u both get too down then we're all cliff diving.

Worst everToday is the 6 year anniversary. Possibly my favorite storm ever. View attachment 138400
Katla going off. Hey, you going to pull an Xmas storm out of the hat? Every year I pull for you, and also the return of the blizzard, lol. I still think I see some pellets around the 10th or 11th, and the Doc has a nice gom low that needs to come north to just under Ga. in the middle of the month, so some pieces are in motion, and it ain't warm. I'm already a degree and a half away from my low for last winter, so cold air is around. Just need to time it all up, and add some CR magic, lol.Asteroid strike
Got a foot and I wasn’t a fan. No power and it was so wet it was hard to play in.Worst ever
I remember it being sunny the next day which melted the snow pretty quickGot a foot and I wasn’t a fan. No power and it was so wet it was hard to play in.
Why? Did you move to Russia? That’s where all the cold and snow is! This was funView attachment 138398

This bomb actually has some legs but I bet it ends up ots
That would do it. We have to get cross polar to get cold back over here quick. We can't sustain a decent pattern long enough to get homegrown cold in Canada before the Pac fire hoses it out. Seems like that's been the theme for years now. But even the -EPO seems to be poorly tilted and dumps in the west anymore.-EPO
