Just like ours. Aside from my wife being sick I kept a 3 day headache with pressure in my chest and a one day cough.
 
I hate this virus. It's got to be a nightmare scenario for epidemiologists. So many things that can keep this virus hidden while it spreads. How do you mitigate this without total draconian China style closures?

I feel like we are experiencing a slow controlled burn which is better than a wildfire but man we need to catch a lucky break with this thing.

After all this blows over I’m really thinking about wiping my shopping cart before using it and ordering more without entering the stores. And having more hand soap and some masks in the cabinet. Going to make some lifestyle changes. No more reusable bags either or at least wipe them down.

I'm hopeful we are doing enough. We are not growing at exponential rates in a lot of areas. The areas that are seeing lots of cases are struggling.

My 2 worries are that the peak for NC isnt projected for another 3 weeks. Secondly the scariest part is most hospitalization occurs 8 to 12 days after onset. We are adding 25k a day right now. Add that the hospitalization rate is running in the 15% range that's alot of potential overrunning of the HC system.
 
A lot of talk and speculation has focused on a lower CFR rate for us (less than 1%). Unfortunately our CFR rate has inched upward every day, and we are now at 2.47%.

If more people are asymptomatic and actually positive, than those numbers are deceiving. But for right now, we still don't know.

I think it shows the second failure of the CDC and Government. Most of the areas with by far the fastest growth had a mass seeding event. The order to limit gathering should have been placed much sooner and a lot of these areas would be better off.

So far I'm believing as long as that doesn't happen, many of these areas may really escape compared to others.

The curfew will be from 9 p.m. through 6 a.m. each day until further notice.
Public gatherings of three or more people occurring outside a single household or residential are prohibited under the order. The order does not prohibit indoor gatherings within a household or residential unit.
 
We go into a shelter in place here in Mississippi tomorrow at 5pm. People will still be everywhere

How anyone could even come close to giving a thumbs down? I mean, come on. He's not affiliated with any party. He's simply an intelligent man who I believe wants the best for us. Shutting down as a country for 3 weeks is nothing compared to shutting a coffin or turning a loved one into ashes. Stop making this a political debate, and start loving one another. Good grief, it shouldn't be this difficult. Whether you like it or not, we're all in this TOGETHER. :mad:

Banning gatherings of 3 or more is lunacy. The way the order is written a family can't gather outside but they can have as many as they want inside ?‍♂️?‍♂️

I think the bolded means that no matter the number in your family, they can still be outside no matter what if you're on your own property.

Yeah I responded in the political thread but I tend to agree, I think that is the intent but it's not clear in the order. And judging by the responses on FB most of the public is not understanding it that way, which is causing frustration.

meh idk. Our household has agreed that only one of us goes out into public the rest stay home. We all did pile into the car this afternoon and just went for a drive . That said I agree with limiting things as much as possible. Honestly you really only need one person at a time to leave and shop etc. means less chance my family gets infected.

Yeah but the county jails here are refusing to book people for ANYTHING short of a felony if they have a temp above 98.6. There are about 5 different PD jurisdictions that use this jail so they have all but quit policing stuff like these "fines and jail time.". I always run a 99.0 temperature so I'm good to go ?
 
I went to ALDI’s today and I had to wait in a long line of about 30 people to get into the store. Apparently there is a limit since everybody has to stay 6 ft apart from each other.

My wife does most of the shopping. She isnt going shopping alone because some people are just too crazy right. While there is no civil unrest right now there are people who may try to take advantage of the situation.
 
There is still a decent caveat to these numbers, but hopefully this is a good trend here.

How does one get a hold of an antibody test?
 
I've touched on this previously, but if you haven't filed your 2019 tax return yet it's a good idea to go ahead and do it, so as to avoid having your stimulus payment sent as a paper check - the IRS issues paper checks at a snail's pace even in the best of times, let along during a crisis of this magnitude (however if your bank account info is the same as it was on your 2018 tax return, then you're fine).
