Gotcha, I'll find it then.... I was just wondering because I couldn't find a Council of State twitter feed. Thanks

I stumbled upon it via the COVID19NC hashtag. I still can't find it though and it's killing me to no end.

New York governor to FEMA: You pick the people who will die because of lack of federal resources

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo criticized the federal response to coronavirus, saying the Federal Emergency Management Agency sent the state 400 ventilators — but they need 30,000.

"FEMA says, 'we're sending 400 ventilators.' Really? What am I going to do with 400 ventilators, when I need 30,000?" Cuomo asked asked at a news conference.

Georgia now over 1000 cases 32 deaths.

so we have about .01 of our population that has tested positive in Georgia assuming the 10 million number is still accurate from 2018

Or Georgia is just testing quicker then other surrounding states

LOL While that may be somewhat true you do know that they are telling the majority of people that are sick to just stay at home, right? The protocol is to stay home and ride it out if you aren't that bad off. Only medical workers, 1st responders or the elderly with underlying conditions can even get test right now. I understand the procedures, it's because of a lack of available testing still.

So that 1,000 number has to be significantly higher. We don't know if it's 2000, 5000, 10000 or more. Literally no one knows. While that is good (early) news for the death rate it also means we should be like the close to 20 states that have already shut down. Most of those don't have as many deaths as Georgia.

And like I had posted last night about a person from my church in the medical field exposed to a person that was positive and she is now showing symptoms was told to go home and that she can’t be tested until Thursday. I don’t know if our county doesn’t have the test kits or what the issue is. Sad situation.

Shopping update!

At the closest major grocery store, they're out of a lot of stuff. No canned goods, just about out of lunch meat, still out of toilet paper, and no ground beef. Our alternative meat pickups of the week are a rotisserie chicken and surprisingly...a brisket! They might have just been put out and they're expensive, but I'm not sure why others wouldn't have picked that up because brisket done well is absolutely amazing.

I wasn't at this one so I don't know if whether they're imposing limits (the Kroger in Aiken yesterday is, but they were still cleaned out).

We've had to use our Kleenex stash for our business for a few days now. We're left to hoping that my dad gets down to Dollar General in time on Thursday morning to pick up real toilet paper, although using Kleenex has worked out.

Several of my meals now have been "Plan B's" in the last week, but it's worked out. The Boston Butt was good, and even the frozen catfish that dad worked on turned out to be good.

If the majority of those that aren’t tested do not show major symptoms and still self quarantine as if they are positive what good does it do to have them officially tested. If we had a true number across the US right now of positive cases it would probably be well over 100,000.

If your showing symptoms and know you might have it what difference does it make if you get a test and are confirmed positive. Treat it like you have the virus and self quarantine for 14 days like a positive person would. Like y’all have said on this board there isn’t any medicine that they can prescribe to make it better. My wife works at the hospital and are basically sending most of the positive and potential positives home to self quarantine. Only admitting the seriously ill, so again is it really that important to get a test if you know you most likely have it. It won’t change the outcome of your treatment.

Got 4 big loads heading to GA. Trying to move up an get out the door before it locks down. What are you GA guys thinking, hearing? GAWX all i see is Atlanta and Savannah. Is it just like Fulton county? I need to get these to Jeffersonville and Macon DCs for big box companies. Thanks for any news, scrolled and this is all i could find.

he doesn’t need 30,000 ventilators today

State as a whole isn’t locked down and Gov Kemp has intentions on keeping it that way. I was thinking the county Macon is in had some restrictions but not sure how tight.

Every doctor and epidemiologist in the world has said testing is the #1 thing we should be doing for a myriad of reasons. I'll listen to them. We're not because we don't have enough. Google the info yourself.

Most people aren't self quarantining for 14 days when they have a job to get back to. You don't understand that or see problem with it?

Here’s a little front line update, Central Carolina hospital in Sanford NC expects to have Coronavirus testing ready some time next week. Our lab information system has been updated to provide presumptive positive results. I suspect other hospitals are likely on the same time schedule.

There is no magic wand for getting more test. Im sure everything that is being done is being done. As far as self quarantining, there are a lot of people that don't have it as good as you. I am fortunate that we can take the measures needed to not spread it. Perhaps if Pelosi gets her act together these people can go home with a little self assurance that they can pay the bills. Just a thought

Our mayor is requesting that Gov Kemp issue statewide stay at home orders because it is otherwise confusing when you have one town with them and another town or unincorporated county very nearby without them.

I think at this point, that’s the only way it will happen. We have medical experts from Emory practically begging the Gov to order a stay at home mandate. If enough county officials and mayors start putting the pressure on him, he may fold to the pressure. He is rapidly running out of time before it spirals out of control here in Georgia, if it hasn’t already.

Part of the problem in GA is the fact that people that are being tested aren’t staying home. That is the case in Albany. The health department is calling the people and checking on them and they are out and about. If it’s like that there I can imagine it’s happening around the state. You can’t fix stupid!!!

Anecdotally, it seems there were less people out and about today in ATL when compared to yesterday, but...still lots of people out and about.
It is confusing because lots of people who work in ATL don’t live there.

Not to scare anyone, but everyone mentions medical personnel getting sick, but a large majority (atleast 70%)of Water/Wastewater operators are 60+ in Alabama. Wrong situation and systems could be down quick.

Edit: as I’m sitting here on lunch, our manager just brought to us an email from ARWA concerning Covid assistance and operator pooling.
