Misc Cold Season Complaining

Yes we who are older can enjoy our memories of winters when the ponds froze over and when it snowed and stayed on the ground for more than a week on some occasions. The Carolina Crusher, the March 1, 1980 snowstorm where the high stayed in the teens the entire day and the Feburary 1987 sleet storm are ones that I will remember. People who move here now look at you like you need to be commited to a lunatic assylum if you even mention the possibility of snow in Raleigh these days. If they only knew!

I know our new neighbors are from Ohio and they thought NC was a snowless state. I mentioned our 70’s and 80’s storms and they were very surprised.

I’m glad I got to experience 2008-2018 here in southern Alabama

We got a 3 month window. No one knows what the hell February is going to do man. We can't even figure out what the next 10 days are going to do. The Pacific jet might extend sideways to Jupiter pulling Cold air from pluto allowing for the coldest February since Moses crossed the Red sea. Who knows. I don't know why we write off massive timeframes.

Yes, just because the last 10 or so were duds doesn’t mean this one will be

It's not just Feb, No one knows even what Jan will bring. Everyone can look at patterns and such all they want on models. But when it comes to 3wks out of further, no one knows what the hell it's gonna do!

You would think but really DO we have to break it? It’s not out of the realm of possibility that we never break it. Records are always being broken when it comes to warm weather.

3 month lol. Most of us don’t have until March 19.

Have you lived here the past few years? Nothing happens in February and March anymore. At least not where I am. January is the only month we have a legit shot at snow anymore where I'm at.

Many of us in this region have enough snow climo for it to completely evaporate. Regardless of warming/cc/decadal cycles weather still does weather things even with declining snow averages.

I live in the Armpit of Hell dude I know all about sucking at getting Winter weather. But I am able to keep my emotions out of it enough to realize that it will in fact snow again in the month of February & March again.
