That was quick. Mixing into silver city?
Holding out hope for the ULL to drop an inch up here in SWVA. Right now this is paltry. I have 0.8" snow on the ground.

Well, no snow for me (no surprise), but the webcam exploration was kinda fun.

Well in the coastal bomb last month, I got nothing.This one at least I saw a few flakes so that is progress I guess. Next winter we will drown in precip but there will be no cold around to help. Seems it is either or in the upper SE

Yes, I am thinking of replacing my "Rates Will Overcome All" title with "Sun Angle / Soil Temps Enthusiast". February 2020 still haunts me, LOL.
Plus, as a kid I lived in the West Virginia lowlands for a few years where getting convective snow showers was pretty common during the winter. You could get several snow showers during the day that probably would've added up to 2" if the snowcover didn't melt in between showers, but every time you got the slushy half inch it would completely melt before the next one. Gets annoying, LOL!

I was so excited for a brief second when the alarm activated on my Sangean CL-100 weather radio a couple of minutes ago. And then I realized that it was just the weekly NOAA test.
That’s how much of a failure this so-called winter storm is IMBY.

i don't think the worse case scenario really panned out and we were right to throw out those ukie runs, instead we got a steady trickle of one step forward two steps back, which is kind of a bummer
It seemed too like most runs would trend slightly better in the closing days, but then you got a few runs with huge abrupt shifts in the wrong direction. So in sum we were mostly taking steps back. But like you said the UKMET was crazy, my window outside is evidence to how wrong it was as it blanked MBY for most recent runs until it finally came around last night.

My lesson is....with record blocking, -AO, -NAO, confluence, weak storms will fall apart and be suppressed. That's essentially what happened here. All models just really sucked at knowing that until Sunday.

used to go there alot for quick snow skiing venture. Got a nice little golf course as well.

Thats a wrap for SC winter most likely. Ill give it a solid C to C-. Several real good set ups to only get 1 small event that didnt reach seasonal average. Think Spring!

500%... maybe not the first run, but if ANYTHING not named JMA/KOREAN/MOGRASS/PANGULA ect show something negative 3-4runs in a row.... its time to atleast start to head to that solution in your brain anyway jmo.

Yeah, barring a miracle that's likely it for us. That GFS clown for early March has almost no chance of verifying for us. Another pathetic winter overall.

Just saw your post before mine (Iceage) and you're most likely right that there's little to no chance of this (12z GFS) verifying but still interesting interesting to look at. Also the CFS had a similar look in this time range a couple of days ago so maybe the chance isn't zero...

Always take the model that shows the least amount of snow and stick with it until the end. If it is wrong then who cares, we got snow didn't we? Also don't even look at a model more than 4 days out, plus figure a healthy warm nose when you do.

Hopefully once we warm up next week it stays there. Hopefully the models are wrong about any more cold weather coming up, because we are not getting any more snow around here for a long time. The 80's can't get here soon enough.
The only way we get a big snow here now will be an amped up system like we had in March 1993. Nothing else will work. It can't be in Feb or March either, it'll have to be in Jan.

haha, well it was just a dusting. I got something, so I'll take it. It's not like I'm overperforming or anything. Plus, I work in Huntersville where it's doing nothing, while my kids watched it come down in Troutman, lol.
