Can’t wait to go storm chasing this spring. I’m beyond done with winter at this point and this winter storm was the last straw lol
Only we can screw up a snow event with too much dry air AND convection…This storm is the worst I get dry air y'all get dry air everyone gets dry air
Did you expect anything different ? I mean, Nashville will go 6-8" Im PositiveOf course Tennessee has as much snow as I do already![]()
I’m going down in the ship with the GFS! All hail the King!
I forgot to enter the forecast contest, but I have no idea what to expect at this point, anyways.
WolfpackHomer91 Model - 3.7" OF Frozen Rain......Moyock model reports as of 00Z View attachment 170615
I don’t disagree, I’m just huffing the best model left. There's no reason to think the GFS (which isn't CAM) would outperform the CAMs that are picking up on the Himalayas of moisture transport disruption out in the Gulf. Just gotta hope the NE fetch from Moyock, NC inland is more robust than expected I guess.
It's sad. Spent many a day there back in the 80s and 90s. Hard to believe what it is now.View attachment 170613View attachment 170614
I am still blown away daily by the damage caused by Helene in many places, but especially Hickory Nut Gorge / Chimney Rock
That backside band is starting to develop some thump.Impressive stuff here. Perhaps we see some snow squall warnings around Thursday morningthe upper level trough by itself pulls the CLT metro and north near 2” of snow View attachment 170640View attachment 170641View attachment 170642View attachment 170643

For this system I really just didn't allow myself to get very excited, no matter what the models showed, because they are wrong 95% of the time. I barely paid attention outside of two days out, other than being aware there might be a storm.Something I've done multiple times already when tracking this storm and other storms this season is I just completely try to focus on anything not weather related to decompress and distract myself for even just a couple of hours whenever disappointment gets to me. I feel like a lot of ppl could use this tip rn lol.
Take a step back, take a nap, go on a walk, ect.
Yea, once I let go about yesterday at 4AM and realized this one simply wasnt gonna come back to us i started having more fun in here and less being bitter at eastern posters ect. I also finally went back on my meds after 3.5 weeks off so that prob helpedSomething I've done multiple times already when tracking this storm and other storms this season is I just completely try to focus on anything not weather related to decompress and distract myself for even just a couple of hours whenever disappointment gets to me.
