Would like to be a bit northwest of the AI and EPS bullseye. Further north west on other models, but still would like to be northwest.

That's the absolute best advice ever! Checking in daily during lunch and enjoying the current weather is good medicine!. If this storm is still showing this weekend then back to model watching every run.
 
Technically, if you guys had the hardware, you could make the AIFS model images better.

You could grab the 2m temperature, 850mb temperature, and the precipitation variables and do some checks at each grid point to render snow maps.

I think stormvista literally just looks at the Temp + Precip and goes with SN at 32 or lower, lols. I do not know the guys, but I do not think they actual calculate the 850mb temps into their maps right now.

Yeah, a Feb 2014 repeat involves us as well.

It involves us with something I have no interest in unless I choose to leave town and go visit relatives in a place that wouldn't see as much ice. I'm fine on an ice storm, but like I said last week at some point randomly, I'd actually be willing to gamble on an ULL working later this month/early March for a change.
 
The gymnastics the 18z GFS just pulled off to keep us from getting cold for the entire run is really annoying. Without a cooperative Pacific it seems to find a way to screw us on cold no matter how much blocking we have over the top.

It’ll hurt a little. But my hope EPS/Euro trends a bit colder at least to give us a front end thump. Fear is it’s just a cutter.

@Rain Cold is probably right, it’s the blocking regime after where we get an eastern trough that’ll be the bigger story in a couple weeks.

That’s a them thing man. It’s how people deal with emotions. People let something like the weather turn them into a negative person lmao. You see it on here, you see it on X/Twitter with the no profile pictures, you see it everywhere. It’s an outlet for them cause part of them is miserable. A lot of people base their happiness on one thing & when that one thing lets them down, they gotta bring others down with them. It’s definitely important to have other interest, hobbies & passions.

There is such thing as overly positive people. 😂 they can be equally annoying.

People have very odd ways of expressing emotions. I find that out more & more the older I get.

I still think the high country in WNC can do well. Just wait til we suppress that height field later this month and keep high pressure in the setup. We chillin

Yeah, I don't get the hoping for the model showing the snowstorm to be wrong. It's usually the other way around. Maybe it's reverse psychology or something. 🤷‍♂️
 
I mean, having a top tier model show run after run of historical winter bombs is fun and makes you have weenie hope. I have to admit. If all of a sudden the EPS jumps south I’d be hooked. This ain’t the Canadian.
