Misc Cold Season Complaining

Don’t know what im more mad about. The fact we’re missing another one or the constant rain barrage that seems never ending on modeling

Maybe it's just a bad run for the long range. Hopefully the last 2 weeks of February the blocking will do work. Phase 8, Strat split, blocking, we got to do work last half of the month. February is dead to me forever if not.

Today is really showing me what I really want. Absolutely amazing day today feels awesome

Yeah but we'll have that in April, let's snow sometime the next 3 weeks.
I could see a scenario where you get some action in Troutman next week While Mooresville gets some but less and Fro in Concord gets even less lol 😂 Then it would feel like CAD events when i was in Middle and HS from 2003-2009. China Grove , Mooresville, Extreme N Davidson and Salisbury, Statesville would all get like 3-6" And down by George Liles in Concord id have like 1 and rain lol

George liles and hwy 29 aka the concord pd zone of death. Percentile for getting pulled over there is like 25-40 on a normal day

I've been waiting for those storms since I moved up here from CLT, but haven't really had any yet. Anything CLT gets, we get like .5 inches more. The move has thus far been unproductive.

I got my license on my16th bday and got a ticket on Kannapolis pkwy there where it crosses over 73 like 10 days later. I was leaving school. (NW Cabarrus) lmao. Then a year later I got a right on red ticket .....again at 73

CAD doesn't work like it used to. Only thing it's good for is 35-40 degree rains instead of 60 degree rains
Meh, your prolly right. Unfortunately now gotta be in Statesville or further north. Or like North Wilkesboro / West Winston score no matter the setup. Far enough N for CAD , Far enough west not to mix.

Maybe it'll happen again one day. I miss when February was a winter month. Some of our biggest storms have been in Feb

I have NEVER for the life of me why anyone would wish for an Ice Storm. To me that is as Stupid as one can get
People wish for tornadoes, hurricanes, and severe weather too….Some of us just like extreme weather. Not sure I want a major ice storm, but I’ll take sleet with some ZR.

It's kinda crazy to "wish" for those too. It's one thing for them to just happen that's out of our control, but to wish for something like that is just being Stupid IMO

The good news is that our wishes have no actual impact on the weather, so people can wish for whatever they’d like. I have no interest in experiencing a hurricane or tornado IMBY, though, personally, but I don’t begrudge those who do. Personally, I think an ice storm is on a whole different level, though, compared to those.

I don’t care for pure ZR storms, but give me some sleet or snow, as well, and I can enjoy it. Usually, we get a mix, not just pure ZR.

So I guess we hope for boring weather or snow or rain ? Noiceeee.

I guess so. We can’t even root for extreme heat or cold since those kill people, too. Snow and rain also cause traffic fatalities, etc. Maybe we should just wish for mild and sunny? But then the sun causes skin cancer…

Haven't been paying much attention, let me guess, the models are targetting Mid Atlantic and NE? As was obvious 300 hours ago?

Edit: Ah yes, the WPC shifted their risk map further North too.

You guys want to track after this one, so kicking the can per say to the next 300+ hour fantasy snow. This one sucks and has sucked at 500mb the whole time. Something we don't have good imagery of with the AIFS suite because the maps suck to read/know much about. Imagine relying on a model they can't even invest time or money into making maps for because it's experimental.

Right now, the GFS/GEFS and ECMWF/EPS are the best models in the world.

I do think the AIFS is going to be a good tool when they get the huge ensemble system built for it; They're working on it now. Probably 100+ members it will be able to do fairly easily.

Solution to the mild and sunny.

CAD, all 365 days of the year.

Non-stop cool and cloudy.

/s (you need breaks)
