Misc Cold Season Complaining

There sure are a lot of wishcasting going on in the main thread.
People have gotten too used to that Northwest trend. Most of the time it's not really a Northwest trend it's just the precipitation field getting larger. This time people on the northwest fringes have cold dry air to deal with. I'm not saying that a few inches isn't possible but a monster storm I just don't see it. South of 85 has a much better chance at big storm.

Exactly Cause I'd be willing to Bet That Low Isn't moving NW into that kind Of Arctic Boundary

I would like temporary mod emergency status when I declare such conditions. I know for a fact will be required next week but we should hold off on the ringing the alarm bells until Sunday so we have better idea on how far west the precip is gonna cutoff at.
It's past 9:00 p.m. I think you forgot your nightly meds! Just a reminder!

Will you be issuing snow advisories for this event?

To be fair I shouldn’t be posting this but I have a friend at Hunter Army Airfield who is working with emergency management teams in Georgia. For now, the mayor of Savannah is only advised to post briefings on his page which you can see he started today. Tree cutting was also started earlier this week along critical power lines with certain power companies.

the fun part about this, is he isn't lying.

they've even got the tree guys out here by my place in sc. emergency operations are already setting up incase the ---- hits the fan

No this type of event will be well televised and warned ahead of time with winter storm watches stretching from Texas to Florida. I only made that controversial call because the snow threshold was indeed gonna be met around the Statesville area on the very first event in my call map and the NWS simply did not bother to put out a product. And the most recent storm, the NWS gave us no product for wilkes&surry and went straight to winter storm warning. I won’t be issuing anything but damn if I stay silent when people need the info in a timely manner.

Yeah, I’ve kept my thoughts to myself, but if I’m being honest, you’re going to have to change what’s depicted into being something different again to get a major, major trend north.

There was a reason why the storm early in January ended up being more a mid south and mountains deal outside of that major band, and it’s we lost the -EPO. This time it appears the -EPO is legit and we’re going to get probably our coldest air of the winter.

Now I do suppose there’s still some time for a change into something different.

I kinda want a NW trend, not really to benefit my backyard but I feel like the kind of snow/ice being modeled for the gulf coast might legit be crippling for certain areas such as the Florida panhandle

Yep, coastal areas will be lucky to get a dusting. Cold too overwhelming. Probably a strip of snow along the Gulf coast/oil rigs from Tx to Frying Pan Shoals out to Bermuda. High clouds from Savanah to South of the Border to Jacksonville to Norfolk. Sorry guys.

at least now we can just read kgsp discussions to know what will happen. dont even need to waste our time watching model runs. they absolutely nailed it

It’s possible but I disagree. I think you are out to lunch on not speaking on the severe ice storm becoming increasingly likely.
