NAM wins for Concord
Should have chased to Atlanta. This one took the wind out of my sails. My 7 year old wanted to go play in the snow tonight and we just went outside and stood in the rain for 20 minutes. I can’t take much more. Still some winter left and I didn’t hear no bell yet but man. Just man

We got an hour of heavy snow here, enough to go for a Jebwalk with the kids and was my daughter’s first time seeing snow. A win for me! Now just need the next storm to accumulate lol

At least cold high pressure is dropping down with this look. Just need one in Pennsylvania and not around Amarillo Texas

Everyone was dishing the NAM last night as it no way it could be right when it started showing the WAA. Well looks like in the End it was right.

NAM excelled and I honestly believe that NC climate has changed. It is harder to see snow anywhere outside the mountains. Central NC is a bust zone. After 3 years of no snow, this is the best we can do. Ouch. Sad, but it is likely a new reality for us.

Well here in upstate I'm good with it. A good one inch snow 2-3 times a season that's gone in couple of days is just perfect with me! That's why I love the South so I don't have to deal with this crap Much

He’s going to hate snow even more now. This was the worst possible outcome for us when even --’s troll forecast was too high on totals. It’s worse than bad honestly

To be fair, I think all models were trash for this storm, AIFS included. Maybe the Nam had the closest effect of the warm nose but even that wasn’t great I don’t think. Big bust in my mind.

You know I feel like those snowless winters we had were better than this poorly forecasted busted slop fest we got going on right now. I love snow but this just turned into a heartbreak and a colossal waste of time. Nothing promising the rest of Jan looks like. I hope Feb can give us some classical snow storms we used to get. We deserve it. Not this mess. I’m going to bed. I hope it’s 70 degrees and sunny when I wake up.

My biggest thing with every storm…. The downs after It’s over. I enjoy the tracking more than Day of, the Model Hawking , the adrenaline rush of a NAM’ing or The ups n downs. The camaraderie of doing this with the 1-200 of you great ppl! Hopefully we get to track another soon! One Day I will again get my “Perfect Storm” 6-10” of Snow , 1” sleet , 1/4” ICE on Top. Now what do we do? I do wonder if I will EVER get to experience a Feb 2014 again though…. 13” Snow , 1” sleet, Glaze of ICE.

What did we learn about the models and meteorologists in the south? Nothing really, because we know we can't buy a damn storm that OVER performs nowadays, or just performs.

I was told it would be east of us i was told as late as Wednesday we may only get a dusting and the NWS wrote in the AFD Wednesday about how its impossible to get a snowstorm with a south wind here and well...

Haha, I often feel the same way after a storm. It would be nice to go wall-to-wall 3-6”+ of snow in one of those again sometime. Transitioning to end as sleet or freezing rain is always super painful even when I know it’s going to happen (like tonight).

I'm not sure what the big deal is bust wise etc.
We always knew it was going to be marginal with a likely warm nose.
We always knew the big snow totals maps were counting everything as snow.
It's always the same. And with this event, it was not going to be a big deal further East from GA to the Carolinas aside from something nice to see for a bit.
