Is it a cognitive bias, or do these always go that way? In ahead of schedule, out ahead of schedule? That storm zoomed on out well ahead of schedule though. Glad it did, so many areas avoided a lot of ZR.
Can't wait to see cheering for phasing near the 4 corners and more "amp" to get the qpf plots up then the angry about why the warm nose is winningEC AI is overrunning event after overrunning event for the western SE meanwhile east of the apps bake View attachment 162668View attachment 162669View attachment 162670View attachment 162671View attachment 162672
It sure does seem like it, although I don’t know if it’s real or imagined. Is it a cognitive bias, or do these always go that way? In ahead of schedule, out ahead of schedule?
Moderate snow again. Going to probably end up with a shade over 2".
Just went for a quick walk. There is nothing quite like walking in the snow. It's uniquely quiet, except for the unmistakable crunch with each footfall. And the way it sparkles under the streetlights is a wondrous site to behold.
I'm setting my alarm for 3 and checking the radar bc why notDo I stay up for potential ending as snow or call it
Thoughts @SD
I think we stay ZR for a couple more hours. I bet it’s 2-3am for sleet/snow at best
Yeah prolly gonna do this.I'm setting my alarm for 3 and checking the radar bc why not
I’m facing this question now, too. Back when I was single, I’d probably just stay up, but I’m not sure she wants me staying up all night to watch sleet pellets or going to bed and setting the alarm for 3am. I look crazy.Do I stay up for potential ending as snow or call it
Thoughts @SD
Man I keep thinking about what if we had a cold feed all that precip had been snow!
And you were out before page 1 ever got postedWell guys we did it. We broke the streak of no snow. 1.3 here in Anderson. Now how long will the next streak be is the question.
Consider me out for the next one as well I don’t wanna jinx it.And you were out before page 1 ever got posted
I fell asleep at 7:30 last night and didn’t wake up until 8am. First uninterrupted night of rest in a long time. LolI'm exhausted, tracked an inch of concrete for 2 weeks. I'm getting too old for this
I didn’t really start tracking this one until Monday or so, but even for me it’s like, damn! Was it all worth it? For an inch!!!I'm exhausted, tracked an inch of concrete for 2 weeks. I'm getting too old for this
It wasn’t off on totals. Those “snow maps” posted from storm vista include ice/sleet in the snow algorithm. So did the AI euro end up being pretty bad overall? Seems like it had the general footprint right from the beginning just off by the totals.
It was wild. I can't recall who said this, maybe @NCSNOW, but this was as rate driven of on an event as I ever remember. Seeing the ptypes change back and forth but then go back to snow was different - usually once the warm nose takes over that's it, no more flakes, especially not once it turns to fzra.1300m nailed this event.
Maybe 0.5” of sleet for my house…congrats to GSP to ATL to Bama for there record snows. I guess for us Raleigh folks we will never see over an inch of snow again.
I hate all weather models, they all sucked.
Now bring me a true Nina pattern, I want to to roast for the rest of winter.
Wanted to go ahead and split this period out main monthly thread. There will probably be multiple waves in this time frame that have to be subdivided out into their own home but for now let's just discuss the full period here.
A final note this pattern is likely to be biased north and west and may be outside of the region. We don't need you to let us know that you are out in here please direct that to the complaining thread.
It had the track the best. By far the clear winner from day 5.It wasn’t off on totals. Those “snow maps” posted from storm vista include ice/sleet in the snow algorithm.
