Misc Cold Season Complaining

We need another Jan 24-25 2000 like event where 1-2 feet of snow falls from south of Spartanburg over to Raleigh, while the I-85 corridor is left out except for the immediate Charlotte area.

If you get under these bright green yellow bands the sleet doesn’t have a chance. It’s all snow. And a lot of it. So if you go sleet for a minute don’t give up bc it ain’t over

Not a single Flake in Mooresville …. It’s snowing in Statesville , Already a snow Globe in Wilksboro and snowing in Salisbury …. Like did it literally just leap frog me ? Lmao

31/14 and 48% Humidity ….

The heavy rates are gone until around dark for upstate SC and that'll be freezing rain. Not one flake of snow and very little sleet either.

It’s not snowing in statesville RN

Not that it really matters (I don’t think), but watching those heavy returns cross over into Mecklenburg and dry up, over and over, is so funny to me. 🤣

People 💩 on the NAM all week long about its warm nose in the Carolinas being overdone and well we see how that’s panning out already lol

Rule of thumb that usually works is take the NAM profile and add another degree or two to that when you have a warm advection setup like this.

If anywhere near CLT and any model shows a warm nose or sleet, just accept it and move on. It doesn't matter what the other models say.

Ha! You're cold blooded. By the way, I had nearly 7" (approximately 6 1/2") from that storm. I'd love a storm of that magnitude again.

I cannot Fathom a loss to Atlanta lol , or Columbia …. Greensboro ? Maybe Raleigh not Atlanta . What a crock of sh*t lol. I got an inch and normally do great in CAD while others gets screwed so maybe it’s my turn lol

After living in the weather wasteland of Augusta for 13 years, it's nice to live in a place where I can actually experience all four seasons and see snow again. We've had at least one winter weather event every year that I've been here. I do have to put up with tornado seasons, but I grew up in Alabama. Nothing new there.

To be fair, Augusta has all 4 seasons and it did snow/sleet in Augusta today !

Well in my neck of woods NW Pickens county. No sleet pellets has fell, it's been all snow whole time just can't get any Fat Flakes

Since 2020 I've had 7.5", not horrifying, but not great.

I’ve been in the upper 20’s through the tick of it and not a whole lot to show for. This one’s tricky down here
Yea, but the majority of the qpf hasn't come through yet. We were only forcasted for about .25 of liquid by this time with another .50 left to go.
