Dang it upstate y’all were supposed to smell the rain to get the snow! Now it’s a desert up there struggling to moisten up @Jimmy Hypocracy fix it

Light area making us go to big sleet pellets, some flakes, and a few ZR drops mixed in.
It’s snowing just west of GSP
But very dry from there east - it’s taken hours for the leading edge of the precipitation to work through Anderson County. That band looks to be setting up well to our south, but hopefully my read is wrong and it lifts north through the day.
Watch this, should calm your worries

I’m watching the radar consistently and maybe I am staring too hard, but it looks like the south end of the dry slot is starting to fill in.

that might be a good theme parkMy final forecast for MBY (N Chapel Hill) is 2-3”, ~2” at RDU, 1-2” in Raleigh-proper, and 3-4” at @BullCityWx’s winter wonderland in N Durham (). Could easily see more, or less. Tough forecast and I’m not a met lol. All areas get snow, but all mix with IP/ZR with more mixing towards Raleigh. Don’t see more than 0.1” ice accrual, and probably not even that much.
Also 3-4” for GSO and 1-2” for CLT.
January 2011.Somehow we screw this up and this radar turns into a bunch of freezing rain for Raleigh later today.

Kalshi does this. You can at least bet on high temperatures at various cities last time I looked. Not sure if they do snowfall betting, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

I don’t want to sound ungrateful because this is the first good winter storm I have seen around here in a while, but this warm nose is making me die inside a little.
