That is one view of the Bible which I used to believe in... The Bible is a collection of stories, songs, proverbs, history... when I started studying how we got the Bible we have now and the sources from which it came from and the process by which it was assembled, it's pretty complex with human fingerprints mixed in with the Divine
 
Christianity is the only religion where God puts himself on the human level and dies as a sacrifice for our sins. That's what makes Christianity different from any other religion. No other "god" has done that and it's all about good works to get you in favor with god and get to heaven.

I felt that this post should go here and not in the political thread.. All I hear is this liberal garbage about letting the children choose what gender they want. Well, let me tell you what God says about it...... I have raised 4 children and I followed this simple statement...."train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it". We have a responsibility to our children to lead them down the right path. Parents need to start acting like adults and take control. Don't be that guy wondering what happened to your teenager. It starts at birth and you have to stay on top of every situation, every day. If you read the Bible to your child every week, throughout those early years, you will be shocked at the results.

Over the years I’ve done various research and often wondered why the Book of Enoch was excluded from the Bible. I understand that scholars over the years didn’t consider it inspired by the One true God. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Especially since the Book of Jude quotes Enoch and in fact even what I believe is the Testament of Moses? I was actually blown away when Jude says Satan and the Archangel Michael fought over the body of Moses.

Good comment. Children are a empty slate when they begin to grow up they don't know anything, why it's very bad to let children make there own choices off of limited knowledge when they don't understand right or wrong.

They SBC ,came clean and cleaned house of the ones burying stuff. Take your black eye, albeit thanks to a select few and be salt to the earth.
SBC churches are all independent, autonomous. They COOP together their missions money, to achieve greater results for North America and World Wide.
No where in the lambs book of life will there be a column for religous affiliation. You are eitheir washed in the blood/have a relationship with Jesus or you dont. Its Jesus finished work on the cross overcoming death,hell and the grave that can save a mans soul. Mans deeds, not matter how well intentioned can not accomplish this.
Be a child of God,not a UMC,SBC,pentecostal,Catholic etc.

One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess, @Shaggy the choice is yours.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

"A fool hath said in his heart, there is no God". Just remember, there are no Atheists in Hell. At the moment of death, everyone becomes a believer. However, it is too late then. Those of you that don't believe in God, and His plan of Salvation, will be faced at some point in your life with the question that every Atheist is forced to ponder. That question is, "What if I am wrong....."
 
My Pastor hit on this yesterday, praising the decision to uphold the sanctity of life and the fact that there is a daily battle in this world against Christians and what we believe. He reminded us of Matthew 10:34-38 and that we should always stand firm. What is happening in our country and the divide isn't unexpected, in fact, as Jesus states in Matthew it was expected and intended when Jesus came to this earth. Right now in this world people within their own families are against them, shoot, we have some Churches that are not upholding the truth and causing a divide within the Christian family. The worldly views are not of God and therefore they will not understand, but know, there is a battle, we must pray daily and as he pointed out respond with love (Jesus also told us to love our enemies, it's a tough thing to do brothers and sisters in Christ trust me). But make no mistake the below is 100% correct and this battle rages on more than ever

Matthew 10:34-39 NKJV​

“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it."
