I mean the 45% high risk for central MS with 0 tornado reports is definitely busting. Probably gonna be pretty close one way or the other in AL.

so...was that cap in mississippi today a factor??? clear skies....and nothing....lots of folks expected explosion in that area due to the clear skies. Thoughts please...New Tornado watch in alabama is a high end PDS....?????? What am I misssing?

I"m a little surprised that areas along the GA border are under a PDS watch. Just doesnt seem like that far east will be as bad.

No cap is apparent in this 20z (3pm CDT) sounding from Jacksonville, MS. The lacking thing in this sounding is that there's less rotational shear than expected. That wouldn't stop storms from firing, but would limit supercell/tornado development. Alabama seems to have the more impressive wind profile, and thus more tornado warnings.

PDS for a squall line????
I may be wrong on this, but didn’t it used to be that any tornado watch in a high risk area had to be PDS or am I remembering wrong?

Ehh. Maybe I’m wrong, but MS seems to have shear issues and Alabama seems pretty worked over.
