after a slow period in august September has been busier. We will have 2 landfalling systems over the next 24 hours and 2 newlt named systems is my bet

gfs spits out another storm from Caribbean at the end of its run. Its 994 in the bahamas

Euro has one coming off Africa and making it's way to the eastern Caribbean. GFS has a monster just west of Jamaica.

End the season with a bang. Last night the GFS had a huge front that swept this hurricane way east out to sea. This morning the front is gone and this is more ominous.

A concerning look this morning. The tropical feature that the GFS develops is growing convection and headed west. Shear is low.

All models have this feature over the islands. It should be the next one to watch.

Models say watch the tropical wave at 40W/10N as it moves into the Caribbean. This could really take off on the western side.

located several hundred miles east of the Windward Islands has
increased over the past day or so. Some gradual development of the
wave is possible during the next few days while it moves generally
westward at 15 to 20 mph.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...20 percent.

LOL, at hour 372 on the GFS you could do just as well with MS Paint. Make your own maps! They would be outcomes that are just as likely to verify.Almost Hazel on the way.

Gfs has hinted at some Caribbean action for a few days but the 18z went a little overboard I hope

Not the ATL but she has really went nuts the last 12 hrs....currently 120mph the NHC takes her to 140 by midday Sat but landfalls her closer to 120....

Okay. I'm getting interested. CMC also has it on the final frame of its 12z Run.
The trough dropping down from Canada on the GFS gave me chills for a second. You got the ingredients on the table to spawn some ungodly F-ing Monster. Those Warm Water Temps in the Caribbean in comparison to the recently cooled East Pacific are also pretty ominous.

Gfs way west this time and stalls it over Haiti essentially destroying the entire country with a stalled major dumping 20 inches of rain. While it's the long range the signal for a very serious threat has persisted for 4 or 5 runs now

Those 200-500Mb Charts are already looking more badass with each run, and the moisture is being driven towards the EC.
Now watch the GFS loose on the next run. lol

I mean it did not do great, but it did pick up on the development of the storm pretty far out.....its not all alone either.

Really these GFS runs are just terrible for the islands.....latest run mauls Jamaica as a cat 5, hammers eastern Cuba then works up the Bahamas and almost looks to be eyeing the SE at hr 342....though there is little chance it could ever pull that off this time of the year with the fronts blasting through.....
