Damn it’s hot in Alabama today. 74 at my in laws in Marion County. It honestly feels like an April day.
He's waiting for another "warm" EPS run lolI wonder if Brad P is still gonna say there is no signs of cold in the southeast the next two weeks
Looking back at the other day, it really was ridiculous he posted that one “ warm” when it’s the only one that’s been that way in the last week. Like I said then, the biggest issue I have with him the last several years is trying to speak in absolutes so far out. He's waiting for another "warm" EPS run lol
I agree. I think he's one of the best in the biz but I agree with youLooking back at the other day, it really was ridiculous he posted that one “ warm” when it’s the only one that’s been that way in the last week. Like I said then, the biggest issue I have with him the last several years is trying to speak in absolutes so far out.
He’s a complete clown! I don’t who said the other day he was a snow weenie!?? That’s not true! There will be an inch on the ground and he will say it’s not gonna snowI wonder if Brad P is still gonna say there is no signs of cold in the southeast the next two weeks
It’s easy to speak in absolutes on no snow down there, cause you will be right 95% of the time! But being in denial, when snow or cold is imminent, is just asinine!Looking back at the other day, it really was ridiculous he posted that one “ warm” when it’s the only one that’s been that way in the last week. I shouldn’t say anything but IMO that’s his “thing”. He’s the “no hype” meteorologist who has to issue 11 call maps leading up to an event because he starts out with flurries to a dusting and incrementally increases each forecast.Looking back at the other day, it really was ridiculous he posted that one “ warm” when it’s the only one that’s been that way in the last week. Come on, do something View attachment 125169
Like I said last night, how he handled our 1st of the 3 storms last January was just horrible. Saying as late as Wednesday that week all rain for CLT then 3 days later when the storm was 12 hours from starting he comes out with an ice accumulation map showing at least .5-.75” of accrual for the entire metro area even though all soundings and short range models were consistently showing the front end snow and heavy sleet storm that we eventually got. Also 12 hours before Michael came through the area in 2018, he said definitely no wind issues for CLT then of course we woke to a tropical storm warning and ended up with winds 60-65mphIt’s easy to speak in absolutes on no snow down there, cause you will be right 95% of the time! But being in denial, when snow or cold is imminent, is just asinine!
I know that YouTube has some TWC coverage of January 1988 and I even think some local news coverage from GSP. Since you’re in CLT, you can found coverage of February 2010 which is neat because that storm arrived during the afternoon rush hour… also there is some on there from February 2014What old news coverage of winter storms do y'all watch? I'm in the mood to watch some, there's a few I habitually watch but just thought I'd give something new a try.
Your right!! and actually one of those was in Charlotte during the March 1,2009 storm. He was reporting 2 miles from the house I was living in at the University area at the timeIsn't there a montage video of Cantore thundersnow orgasms out there?
Blizzard Warning
URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Raleigh NC
250 PM EST Fri Jan 1 2023
...HISTORIC BLIZZARD CONDITIONS EXPECTED ACROSS THE TRIANGLE OVER THE WEEKEND...
...BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 PM EST SUNDAY...
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
- WHAT...Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations of 36 to 48 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze expected. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph.
- WHERE...Portions of central North Carolina, including the Triangle area.
- WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Sunday.
- IMPACTS...Travel could be extremely difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commute. Power outages are also likely, and may last for several days or even a week. This is a historic snowstorm, unlike anything the region has ever seen. Do not leave your home unless it is absolutely necessary, as you are likely to become stranded. If you are in an area that is prone to flooding or power outages, consider evacuating to a safer location.
A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout conditions, making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle. Prepare for extended power outages and stock up on essential supplies. This is a once-in-a-lifetime storm, and everyone should take it seriously.

Was it that AI that makes essays?I asked a bot to write a once in a lifetime Blizzard Warning for the NWS Raleigh

36-48”?!? I would have at least made it a bit more believable. 18-24”I asked a bot to write a once in a lifetime Blizzard Warning for the NWS Raleigh

I figured, go big or go home. I didn't put in the 60mph wind gusts btw.36-48”?!? I would have at least made it a bit more believable. 18-24”
Logan Elliot: Ugh, I can't believe the 12z GFS run is a little warmer than the 06z run. This is so frustrating.
Tarheel1: I know, right? But on the bright side, the model looks great for snow in Iowa.
NoSnowATL: Yeah, but we really suck down here in the southeast. It's never snowing when we want it to.
Logan Elliot: I know, it's so frustrating. I'm starting to lose hope.
Tarheel1: Don't give up just yet. The models can still change. And remember, it's still early in the season.
NoSnowATL: Yeah, that's true. But I'm still upset. I was really hoping for some snow.
Logan Elliot: Me too. I can't believe this is happening.
Tarheel1: Hey, I'm from Iowa and I don't really care about the southeast anymore. The model looks great for my area, so that's all that matters to me.
NoSnowATL: Same here. I live in Florida and I don't really care about the snow anymore. It's never going to happen down here.
Logan Elliot: I guess you're right. But I can't help feeling disappointed.
Tarheel1: Don't worry about it. Let's just focus on the areas that will get snow and be happy for them. And remember, we're all in this together. Let's support each other and keep each other updated on the latest forecast.
NoSnowATL: Agreed. Let's hope for the best and stay hopeful.
That's pretty accurate lol.I also asked the bot to write a dialogue for this weather forum.

Another one with some of the NC gang. I have a feeling we will see this play out almost exactly in a few months.I also asked the bot to write a dialogue for this weather forum.
NickyBGuarantee: Hey guys, did you see the new GFS run? It went from 10 inches of snow to 0.
LickWX: Yeah, I saw that. It's so frustrating. I was really hoping for some snow.
SD: Me too. I can't believe this is happening.
MyFrotho704: Yeah, it's really disappointing. I was looking forward to a big snowstorm.
Jimmy Hypocrisy: I know, right? It's so frustrating when the models change like that.
NickyBGuarantee: I know, it's so frustrating. But I'm done. I'm not even going to look at the forecast anymore.
LickWX: Same here. I give up. It's not going to snow until 2024.
SD: Yeah, I'm done too. I can't take it anymore.
MyFrotho704: I know, it's so disappointing. But I'm going to keep an eye on the forecast anyway, just in case.
Jimmy Hypocrisy: Same here. I'm not going to give up completely. Let's just hope for the best and see what happens.
I honestly would like to find some local coverage from our area of that storm… if anything just to see how much the forecast changed as that Saturday morning progressed. When I got up at 7am, the NWS had CLT metro only changing to snow showers in the afternoon with little accumulation. Then I remember watching Larry Sprinkle do a live cut in just after 10am to show that Blizzard Warnings had been expanded south and east to include the entire CLT metro and accumulations would be 3-9”… I ended up with 7” at my parents house in Concord. It would probably be interesting to read some of forecast discussions from that morning to see when the local NWS office began thinking it was going to be a bigger deal for CLT.I watch the 1993 superstorm. Even though it wasn’t really for our area. It was so neat seeing young James spann coverage

Yeah it was…fairly certain that southern Iredell and the NW corner of Mecklenburg got about 10”. It’s odd considering the path of the low was virtually right overhead as CLT recorded it all-time low barometric pressure, even lower than Hugo. Of course it was an odd situation that it was almost a perfectly vertically stacked triple phased stormWow that’s was more than I thought for our area. That would be neat to see local coverage
