I was in South Korea earlier this month and saw a little snow on the ground (no snowfall while I was there). That may be all the snow I see this year. ?

I think most of the posters are thinking this could trend to a snow storm for NC. AL/GA not so much. We would need WSW flow aloft longer to get the moisture in place. The energy needs to dig back in New Mexico or west Texas for us to have a chance, I think.

I was hopeful until the 12z runs, but I’m definitely leaning to a miss. It *could* trend in our favor, but truth be told while we talk about the NW trend, I’ve also watched systems such as this trend east, then back west in the midrange and cause hope and then back east. Southern stream waves seem to amp close to verification and northern stream waves seem to like to trend progressive.

Looking like the first half of Jan is garbage. We're down to the 2nd half of Jan because February's suck anymore and offer little hope it seems. Especially La Nina like this year. Just awful. But hey I guess we'll finally have a below average Dec and cold Christmas. But nothing to show for it

That doesn't happen anymore. Snowstorms in Texas move toward the Lakes now in the new era. El Ninos give you a good shot at rainstorms moving across the south. El Ninos are too warm now. La Ninas are too warm now. La Ninos that act like El Ninos are too warm now. La Nados are too warm now. If you want snow, you need to move to Seattle or northern Mexico. That's just the way it is now, and I don't see anything that's going to change that, outside of a VEI 9 eruption.

I can confirm this is fake news. My 7 inches of snow last winter says otherwise. Your a bigger warm weenie then me, you can’t see me in these snowy* streets
