Any hope for us back west or is this strictly late bloomer situation?
I think most of the posters are thinking this could trend to a snow storm for NC. AL/GA not so much. We would need WSW flow aloft longer to get the moisture in place. The energy needs to dig back in New Mexico or west Texas for us to have a chance, I think.

I was hopeful until the 12z runs, but I’m definitely leaning to a miss. It *could* trend in our favor, but truth be told while we talk about the NW trend, I’ve also watched systems such as this trend east, then back west in the midrange and cause hope and then back east. Southern stream waves seem to amp close to verification and northern stream waves seem to like to trend progressive.

I would like to officially thank my man @KyloG for buying a new snow shovel and just killing our great pattern and snow chances! :D
Or me for changing my avatar to a snow covered Grumpy cat. I'll go back to my old pessimistic ways. That always kept my expectations in check and was less disappointing.

I just want to watch a big dog storm start forming out around texas and grow as it comes across and plows into the Carolinas. And I want the 540 line to be around Columbia sc. is that too much to ask?
That doesn't happen anymore. Snowstorms in Texas move toward the Lakes now in the new era. El Ninos give you a good shot at rainstorms moving across the south. El Ninos are too warm now. La Ninas are too warm now. La Ninos that act like El Ninos are too warm now. La Nados are too warm now. If you want snow, you need to move to Seattle or northern Mexico. That's just the way it is now, and I don't see anything that's going to change that, outside of a VEI 9 eruption.

I can confirm this is fake news. My 7 inches of snow last winter says otherwise. Your a bigger warm weenie then me, you can’t see me in these snowy* streets
