Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

We need the moisture trending northwest and the cold air pushing southeast. We are almost there, but I don't know if it can adjust much more west.
Would the cold air be pushing southeast or southwest ? Trying to figure out if the cold is coming from CAD or from the NW.

RDU's gonna win again and then go right back to acting like they haven't seen a significant snowfall in 40 years. Correct me if I'm wrong, but RDU has seen say a 5"+ snowfall more recently than CLT? Maybe I'm just being a bitter wieners

RDU is a really large area to lump into all one place. I'm in Wake county, but south of the city and haven't seen anything more than a dusting in like 4 years. The rain/snow line often sets up right through the middle of Wake County. Places like Durham, Chapel Hill, or Northwestern Wake have seen some nice hits, but South Wake has been nada. I feel like even the snow capital of Roxboro sometimes gets lumped in with RDU, and its just not the same place. Its kind of like saying Charlotte has been winning because Concord got snow. CLT has a very similar situation to RDU. I grew up in south Charlotte near Pineville and there would always be big gradients as you went north.

Here is my message being sent from Montana to southernwx It sucks knowing that the same places is going to get hit again we need more areas in the south especially roughly I-10 to maybe south of I-20 who only maybe seen a flurry all winter ❄️ to score before the PNA decides to flip the switch positive… I’m holding you guys down in the south who’s yet to see accumulating snow… I thought I’ll speak up for the quiet ones since I’m up here bored at work in Montana on a cold chilly day lol

If I do any changes to my map it’s because of that costal development could really sling higher totals into central Virginia a bit further than I have. I hate that the weather community has came down to laughing and not supporting others forecasts. I’m sorry I don’t wishcast im just trying to get the right forecast out. It may not be what you wanna see but damn let me try. @Myfrotho704_

Do you think I could see higher snow totals in eastern Wake Co?

Yes. Much better chance out that way. Some were calling for heavy snow out this way over the weekend and I was like nope it’s gonna be down east! They are just now listening. It’s always been a southern slider ejecting ene…which favors eastern NC and VA

I feel optimistic today. Potentially 12+ hours of precip with temperatures below freezing and cooler 850s than last time. Should be much better than the last event here. Hoping for primarily SN but I'd rather have IP than ZR

Nw sc and Ne ga gonna ride the euro right now. But this sure has that Rdu look to it to me. Novelty event here but still time for changes. I'm ok with it since there's still 2.5" on my deck and back yard. If it misses us I sure hope midlands in SC get a decent hit...much deserved!

It seems like at some point the people getting posts deleted would learn the storm thread is for reading, not posting unless you have something to ad to the discussion. It's almost unreadable at times with all the bitching and wishcasting. Act you have been here before.
I am going to create and post a running wall of shame for posters who keep getting their posts deleted.
