Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

Always hurts to call it a night while flakes are still flying. We commit so much time and emotion to it that it feels wrong to leave it when it’s happening
Sheesh especially in the south .. I watch every flake fly .. cause you never know when it’ll be your last.

I never would have expected the last flake of winter 2018-19 to fall on December 10, but it did. Nothing is guaranteed here when it comes to snow. This could be our last snow until 2023, especially if the trend in Niñas continues.

Lol at like 2 am a very wide eyed deer in headlights looking Nicky posted on his story “snow looking more grim than previously thought”. He’s afraid of us

New favorite weenie line: synoptic set up does not favor ( insert hated model) Euro solution! I learnt it in the Midwest thread at ? new home! It’s a keeper
Euro gives me sunshine

Those along the coast don’t know how close they were to much more than what they got. It’s hard to get snow down there, especially the coast of SC. Crazy everything was in their favor two weeks in a row.

Yeah, happy for them, who knows how long it's been since CAE to FLO, to CHS has seen two accumulating snows in the same year. Pretty wild. On the other hand, it's hard for me not to feel like I've been robbed two weeks in a row. I'm tired of the these late bloomer coastals and ready for some gulf action; only seen snow fall once and I'm feeling quite left out over here!

We southern weenies could only dream of having a forecast like this. This is for Boston.

Today
Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Areas of blowing snow after noon. High near 25. Windy, with a north wind 32 to 38 mph, with gusts as high as 65 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 21 to 27 inches possible.

Tonight
Snow likely, mainly before 11pm. The snow could be heavy at times. Areas of blowing snow. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 11. Wind chill values as low as -8. Windy, with a northwest wind 22 to 29 mph, with gusts as high as 47 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Yeah if the last 2 storms would have been normal gulf storms we would’ve been sitting pretty here. The cold has been here. It’s a shame cold is usually the problem and not plenty of gulf lows.

I'd love a February 9-10, 1973 (although, several in the upstate missed out on that storm), February 12th, 2010, or a January 9-10, 2011 Gulf low type of storm.
