Haven't been paying much attention to this storm the past day or so. Really fell off a cliff for eastern NC it appears. I thought for sure they would get 4-6"...brutal.

I think it's safe to say after this event nobody should wish for suppressed storms anymore, they just go too far east!
But only if there's a -NAO.

Yeah. I mean they’re fine as long as you’re dealing with suppression to the south with a storm already ramped up and moving. This late blooming crap is for the birds.
It’s best when storms that involve overrunning are more suppressed, given there fueled by warm air advection/frontogenesis. these phasing situations however never seemingly work out anymore tho

I have hiked that entire Art Loeb Trail over the years and after days out, always check in there for a couple to three of rest, showering and damn good food ... TreeTops!
