Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

Was near 60 today , post your pics bro . I want to see what’s left in the field you post .
It’s all gone in areas that have sun, still a lot in shaded areas, technically some of it could last till Friday in shaded areas but Friday is looking like a nothing burger at this point

Dang . No snow on top of snow than. Tonight should be way above freezing with rain coming in tomorrow . That will end it all. You should have gathered all the sleet into a mountain . That stuff would have lasted a month if you made it high enough.

Is there anymore models showing more winter weather while the cold air is in place before the end of the month or is this the last one currently in range?

This is probably the most I’ve let a potential wiff bother me since the double wiff in Jan 2018 that Columbia experienced (which was the only city in the entire Southeast nearly that didn’t see measurable winter weather. It’s just incredible how bad we are at weather down here. It wouldn’t feel near as bad if we got something along with everyone else a couple days ago. But even the backside snow missed us 30 miles to the North. I typically don’t get on here & whine anymore, cause I know no one really cares regardless, but I know we got a bunch of passionate weather people in here, so y’all would understand. Just an incredibly painful streak we are in down this way. This storm pulled me in more than any storm has in 4 years.
Oh man that was pain. I lived down there from the summer of 2013 until the spring of 2018. I got a better job offer back up this way. The money was a good bit more and over 3 extra weeks off each year. Taking the job was by far the right thing to do, but I almost didn't go through with it because I loved Lexington. That area is one of, if not the nicest areas in the state. But the sting of the 17-18 winter was brutal and helped make my decision to leave a lot easier. That and I couldn't bear the thought of suffering another one of those brutal summers. I swear that stretch from Augusta thru Columbia to Fayetteville is the screen door to hell!

Pattern is loaded! Can’t go 30 days below normal temps and only score one little event? That’s not possible, is it?

This is all she wrote. Best we can hope for is a quick late season dump through dynamic cooling that immediately struggles against high sun angle.

This storm just goes to show how how far we still have to go for forecast modeling. No matter how smart we are or how powerful are our tools, they still have limitations . I chuckled with Webb’s persistence regarding the sleet over Raleigh. We are now staring at partly cloudy instead of a raging sleet storm. Kid is brilliant but needs to learn some humility.

Searched the whole dictionary to find a word that describes how I feel right now and there just isnt one that does it justice.

Although you got close Jimmy with pist.
