I don't understand the freak outs by anyone in the Raleigh area at this time. Concern? Sure. Lower expectations than some of the near double digit totals? Yep! Saying nothing is going to happen? Little bit premature.

To be fair, he was saying this from the get-go when everybody was weenie-fiving the Euro for showing a big amped solution several days ago.
 
i will say that in the past once the nw trend starts it corrects QUICK and usually is 24-36hrs out and screws us. plenty of times when i lived in raleigh and we sat pretty at this point thinking the models couldnt possibly bust this close to the event and we were screwed.
 
This is what smashing your finger with a tack hammer feels like.
 
I want one of two things out of February either we finally get a big snowstorm or let's just move onto spring. This is not what I expected from winter here just to get dry cold every few days
 
11pm newscasts going to be walking this one back big time. from devastating ice to no precip. and to think last night at 00z we had every model on board.

Would just like everybody to know I was first calling the warm pattern change ! No snow bham Shane Larry was all doubting me ( ok prolly not ) but I’m pulling through. I looked at Alaska , Alaska told me what was about to happen . Now yesterday and today far long range reflected the mid range changes underway leading to the pattern change with the western ridging pulling back . Bham you owe me lunch !
 
At this point, the Tuna boats will get a flizzard just off of Wanchese Harbor
 
I will remember this next time we have a storm and need a southeast trend!! It can happen! Oh wait: only when we don’t need it to happen
