Misc 2021-22 Fall/Winter Whamby Thread

Damn Uk has a 999 L going between Triad and Triangle. At this point we need to look out for strong storms down east. Lol. Frustrating as hell.

This is from the 06z Euro, but the mid level flow running orthogonal into the Blue Ridge side of the mountains is going to be tremendous here....intense mtn precip

You had me at orthogonal

The main thread right now is “jackpot” versus “this sucks”.

Given their rarity, winter storms in the south are zero sum games. There are winners, losers, underperformers, and overperformers. Without threads for subregions, it’s tough weeding through everything.
I read the location before the post. ?

I'm ok with regional threads but how do we split it up? Impacts? Hard state by stare borders? Nws office? I think it makes sense to split from an information flow perspective but I don't know how to get there

I get where he is coming from, many of us (I'm just as guilty) make post that are more specific for our own surrounding area. I'll say this sucks while someone in N. Bama will say I love this look, key is knowing where members are located and becoming familiar with them. But I also realize with nearly 500 new members, most are probably not familiar with each, it's important members put their location for that reason. Breaking into sub threads by states or NWS office would be a nightmare I think

Take that number 2 section and split it in half. The Western half that actually gets snow and the Eastern half that doesn't.

Edit: Half of the posters on here think that everybody in NC gets snow just because the mountains and foothills usually get clobbered with it. Couldn't be further from the truth.

I have plans to go outside Sunday, any thoughts on that. I have to wonder if some can't tell where they live looking at maps.
