Misc 2020 Banter Thread

There is a small chance I might need to play Mario Kart Wii again if the super nega nellies get their wish. It's still not one I'd consider as high, but it's a small chance that I wouldn't have thought as possible a while ago.
 
Has anyone here ever had to deal with bedbugs? For those who do not know, they will invade clean homes as often as dirty ones. Mansions or shacks, it doesn't matter. They're not attracted to dirt or food. Mainly only the blood of humans. We think a home healthcare nurse accidentally brought them to us from a prior patient who had a bad infestation. She had gone home to change clothes, but that may not have been enough. Just incredibly bad luck. I had never even seen or thought about a bedbug being in my abode throughout my entire life!

So, now we have to figure out how the heck to get rid of these pests and keep them away. They're especially attacking my disabled bro, who is largely bedridden. This sucks bigtime. :confused:

When I had come home from a trip from NYC my junior year of high school I brought bed bugs back. They likely festered for a month or two before I ever noticed them. Was horrific , my parents were very rash and quite literally threw my entire bed and every item associated with my bed onto the street !

We went to Lowe’s and bought a bunch of bed bug sprays, and this smoke bomb that you leave and evacuate the house for a few hours. We repeated this for a few times in every room and checked literally ever nook and cranny with a magnifying glass .Left various items such as shredded up basil which supposedly they don’t like the smell of around the house too.

Oh, a lot of my cloth were thrown into trash bags and never opened again as well. We managed to get rid of them on our own. Took a couple weeks but 3 and a half years later here we are bed bug free still.

I’ve never personally dealt with bedbugs, but I wouldn’t take any chances. Call a fumigation company to come out and cover the house and fumigate it for a couple of days while you stay elsewhere. I’m sorry man, crappy way to start a weekend.

That does suck, sorry you have to deal with it. I had an issue last year where I think one took a ride home on my luggage from a hotel. I purchased a mattress cover from Wal-Mart and cleaned/vacuumed around the bed and washed the linens. In my case it may have only been one bedbug. I isolated the problem to the comforter and threw it out. That took care of the problem.

I did find one good YouTube video which was an interview with a pest control guy. He said typically when bedbugs are introduced they will stick to the area/bed where they were first located. It takes time for a true infestation to develop and the bugs to start going to other areas.

Best of luck getting rid of those pests.
 

Well it’s a white man that got shot no doubt. Could this be a hate crime?
 
I honestly believe that every person on the planet is (at least) going to carry the virus at some point (in other words, test positive); it's just a matter of who gets sick, who gets what symptoms and who is fortunate enough to remain asymptomatic.
 
I am just in shock how the division and hate in America continues to grow each day. We should all be protesting our govt. and media. Both parties and the media are fueling this. I know Trump is an idiot and can’t keep his mouth shut. The hate though towards Trump and his supporters is something I thought I would never see. From some saying they want them to burn in hell to a cult and other names. You don’t see Trump supporters saying things like this. Yes some supporters of Trump are ugly but not the level of hate and vile towards Trump supporters and Trump himself. Think about it. You have so much hate that someone has to buy fake tickets. Why would anyone be so ugly to do such a thing. Everyone has a right to like and vote for whom they like. Agree or disagree. Just let both sides of supporters have the right to do it peacefully. Someone said this is what both parties have created. Spot on truth. No matter who wins we are still in deep trouble. If Trump wins then riots and protests will continue no doubt. If Biden wins within a year we have a socialist in the WH. Both are dark paths but it goes back to the American people. We should be protesting for different candidates. We should be demanding term limits. We should be demanding media be truthful and not favoring one side. We now live in times when we are expected to apologize for our ancestors. We now have some saying the national anthem should not be played at sporting events. We have become so divided we have people in this country who do not want it to be America and want to change the flag. We all should be saying this is not right. Many died for these freedoms we have. How can a young generation forget or not understand the sacrifice made for them to live in America? When a country is divided it can not stand and will fall. History is ugly and sucks but it’s history we should learn from. Just like Christians are reminded when we read the Bible of Jesus Crucifixion. You don’t see them asking that it be erased from the Bible. We all have history with growing up and our parents punishment if we did something wrong. You don’t see us asking for us to forget that punishment. We learned from it. We the older generation need to save this younger generation by educating them and giving them guidance of what it means to be American. To show them what the flag stands for. Sorry for rant but my heart breaks for the country I love.

Are you near a big river mouth? Maybe it got swept away along a river bank just inland, then flowed out in the ocean and the currents deposited it back shore. I dunno.

I am already so sick of this election. I could care less any more who wins. We are so in trouble no matter who wins. Please let’s fast forward to 2021.

NASCAR was staged. If it did happen it’s a disgrace. So what’s next. They going to kneel and apologize? Let him win the race? All this is ridiculous. My wife is a teacher and another teacher who is mixed is asking all fellow white teachers to apologize on FB.

I liked what Nascar did despite it being staged/phot op. I'm assuming it really happened. There's a lot of sickos out there. Also, it was good to see the King, who looks really good and fit for 82, walking fast on the track! Haven't seen him in a long time.
