Not cold enough. Any snow that may be on the ground could melt with temps near 40 ?Accuweather says Christmas is looking cold this year!View attachment 52754
At least we’re close to something, CMC moves our trough off a tad to fast and the cutoff is held back, while the gfs is fast with it, at least we’re staring down a pattern that can produceThis gets me mad. The Ridge holds back energy, that has enough moisture to be a repeat of December 2018.

I think that while this pattern is not a dumpster fire, it will be an uphill battle. I believe that the +PNA ridge will be very strong, so balancing out that with a strong northern stream trough will be important. I think that the CMC is way too overzealous with HP, and usually is. The GFS solution will not be any good due to the interaction with the wave and a ridge over the EC/Atlantic. I think that our best wish is for a stronger trough out ahead of the storm, and a slower s/w as you mentioned. Otherwise, I’m not impressed, and I think that atm, we are grasping at straws. At least we’re close to something, CMC moves our trough off a tad to fast and the cutoff is held back, while the gfs is fast with it, at least we’re staring down a pattern that can produce
Cold rain, just my type
HellFor some odd reason I got pollen collecting on stuff , from where tho ?
Honestly, I’m glad to see the warmth centered over the northern plains. Finally, they’ll know the feeling. Better than the SE Ridge, but I’m not holding my breath.no cold air to pour into that trough, it’ll make its own cold air then !!
