It's truly remarkable that Atlanta hasn't had a 6" snowfall in 37 years.

March 1983. SD was a month old lol. March 1993 atl got 4"
6in is rare so it makes sense. We do live in a warm region so it takes everything to line up just to get snow in the first place.March 1983. SD was a month old lol. March 1993 atl got 4"
remember it wellMarch 1983. SD was a month old lol. March 1993 atl got 4"
tick tockWho can give a short timeout to a mod/admin when they misbehave? Like a HR line. I was wanting to assemble a team of members (2) that could ensure the integrity of the board.
How do you know this???? You're memory is remarkable if not a little creepy.....March 1983. SD was a month old lol. March 1993 atl got 4"
I remember weird things. I just remember his birthday being the first week of February in 1983. I have no idea how I remember. How do you know this???? You're memory is remarkable if not a little creepy.....
I'd get myself banned if that happenedMember 11 is basically a best case scenario View attachment 55447
Why do you even care whether there's a thread? We'd just be posting about this in the December thread if we didn't have an event thread. Doesn't matter where it gets postedYep. Amazing this wouldn't even be thread worthy even in bad years. Shows just how bad the last 2 years have been.
I think you bring up a valid point, and I do think that this thread was created in "different" circumstances. However, I don't know if we got a single thread-worthy model to have snow from the time this thread was created to the time it ended. Maybe the fact that we have a thread is the reason we're talking about it?Why do you even care whether there's a thread? I mean even if that's the case, why does it matter? We can talk about what we want.I think you bring up a valid point, and I do think that this thread was created in "different" circumstances. Post away. Just never saw threads started much with so little support in the past. Just don't want to see everyone get so disappointed when nothing happens. I mean we haven't even had a single fantasy run. A couple EPS members with flurries and 1 GEFS member doesn't exactly scream potential even for that. Those storms in 2017 and 2018 had something this one doesn't, cold air.Why do you even care whether there's a thread? I just don't get why anybody cares about the location of the posts. Its just ridiculously pedantic to mePost away. Just never saw threads started much with so little support in the past. You're right it doesn't matter, but I think Grump's point was, why is there a storm thread for something that had a low probability of producing something?I just don't get why anybody cares about the location of the posts. Its just ridiculously pedantic to me
I can honestly say I have never heard of the word pedantic until now. Thanks for helping me to expand my vocabulary !I just don't get why anybody cares about the location of the posts. Its just ridiculously pedantic to me
Exactly. I didn't mean to offend anyone. Sometimes I'm just too blunt and don't choose my wording carefully a lot of times. LolYou're right it doesn't matter, but I think Grump's point was, why is there a storm thread for something that had a low probability of producing something?
This was a long long shot in the beginning. 75% of the winter threads fail so it’s normal.Exactly. I didn't mean to offend anyone. Sometimes I'm just too blunt and don't choose my wording carefully a lot of times. Lol
I’m curious where you find the total members?Fun fact we just hit 1,800 members!
Just scroll to the bottom on the main forums pageI’m curious where you find the total members?

Solid. Need 1800 moreFun fact we just hit 1,800 members!
True! Even with model support. I remember having a 6 inch mean with like 35 members having snow on the EPS last year around 5-7 days out and the wheels fell off and I got nada. So naturally I'm not exited about 1 member showing flurries 4 days out. LolThis was a long long shot in the beginning. 75% of the winter threads fail so it’s normal.
Yea nothing is set in stone past hr 2.True! Even with model support. I remember having a 6 inch mean with like 35 members having snow on the EPS last year around 5-7 days out and the wheels fell off and I got nada. So naturally I'm not exited about 1 member showing flurries 4 days out. Lol
FixedYea nothing is set in stone unless your grass is already white.
I've said this before but I really have no problem with threads for periods that look decently interesting most of our threats turn into rain anyway. Like you said they are good learning experiences and really reduce the clutter from the main monthly thread. For this situation in particular I don't think the expectation was ever for a board wide footer but more that the incoming northern stream energy and potential phase could give someone a little somethingTrue! MoveI'm snow starved! I moved to CAE, well Irmo just NW of it in August of 2013. Got 2 snows the winter of 13-14. About 3 inches in Jan and about 4 in Feb. Though hey this place won't be so bad. Boy was I wrong. Nothing else from then on. Move back to a place that actually has a chance in May 2018 and got 6 inches Dec 2018. Thought yes sir let's go! Now here I sit with nothing since! So cut me some slack guys! I've seen one accumulating snow in 7 years!
Good grief. The folks in the western Boston burbs must be going nuts.Build the snowpack! ?

I did! A 10k a year raise and 3 extra weeks off a year got me out of CAE! And getting snow holed like that in the winter of 17-18 helped my decision. I'm actually in a good spot to get a good snow each year here. Not sure what the hell has happened since Dec 2018! Hopefully this year changes that.Move
