Definitely the latter. With a GL cutter we know we never had a chance, even with the deceptive onset ice. But with a late bloomer, we’ll hope and pray for that last minute NW trend right up until we end up with nothing but crispy cirrus.

I'm generally pretty optimistic in the beginning of winter. Less so the last couple of years that have just been so warm. But I'm still feeling pretty good right now. However I reserve my weenie rights to punt this year if in January if I see persistent crud patterns through December. It's my right as a weenie.

I’ll see plenty of snow! I really wish y’all could pull off another ‘88! This board would crash so hard if that kind of event was imminent! I would love to track it with y’all!

Oh totally the last few years I've only seen snow in NYC Lake Tahoe and a snow chase up near the Oklahoma border in February hopefully will be in Colorado in mid January but it's still not the same
 
While everyone else chased snow today , I woke up early and drove down to Atlantic beach , got knee deep in the water because it was warmer than the air . Spent an hour out there then hiked around fort Macon state park, the hiked at the Croatoan national forest , then worked out with my buddy in havelock who can squat 900 pounds ! This trip was spontaneous , I wasn’t planning on the beach till I was half way to havelock . Reminds me of the day I got up to go to Lowe’s but then somehow wound up in Virginia Beach instead .

I had palms and water on my mind today! Whole different world down there than it is out in the mountains right now. I was staring at nice green coastal forests with nice oaks and palms .
 
The water temp was 64 while air temp at the time was 46 with a pounding wind making for a windchill in the 30s . The water felt good in comparison , I managed to stay in it for a good while .

900 Squat is elite level... used to powerlift, and my best was 585 at 190 pounds.

There must be a big southern slider on an EPS member because it has nothing for most of the SE for the entire run but when it hits hr 288 most of the northern SE sees a sizable jump in the mean. First pic is hr 276 and second pic is hr 360.
