For real .. a snow storm for me is when the tops of the blades of grass can’t be seen anymore .. I’m so pissed in 2018 if I went to state I woulda had that snow storm but instead I went to Charlotte and got 2 inches of SLEET ... -_-

Dallas' snow and/or ice storm for Wednesday seems to be going to crap.

All of the 12z model runs (minus the NAM) were bleh.
 
Meanwhile, the EURO wants to dump 12-14" on my old stomping grounds tonight/tomorrow.

I waited so long for that, and now it may happen when I'm gone, lol.

I've never seen more than 10" ! I would die if I see more than that. But i'm always skeptical of these models spitting out huge amounts of snow. It almost never snows as much as the models say.

Let me try to be serious. With the rest of February not looking good at all. You have to believe we see a brief favorable pattern in March. Will it produce probably not but I wouldn’t be surprised to see something pop up for March.

I totally agree with you. The- EPO/+TNH/+PNA pattern over the last 10 years have helped us east of the Appalachians a lot more with getting cold/winter storms than the -NAO. This -NAO event has gotten us a lot of cold rain events with very few to no winter weather opportunities. Atleast with the -EPO/+PNA/+NAO pattern, the eastern SE have a real shot of severe cold and with a good possibility winter weather.

Not to mention when you have -EPO/+NAO/+TNH, it's go big or go home. If you're not having a chance for wintry weather, you're usually warm and not getting cold rain

...BLACK ICE LIKELY LATE TONIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING OVER
PORTIONS OF NORTH AND CENTRAL GEORGIA INCLUDING THE ATLANTA
METRO...

Rainfall associated with an approaching cold front will be moving
through the region this afternoon and evening. As the rain exits
the region this evening cold air will filter into the area
quickly behind the rainfall. In addition...relative humidity
values are expected to remain high over night. As a result of the
temperatures quickly dropping below freezing and relative
humidity values remaining high...many area roads and bridges will
not have an opportunity to dry off and subsequently have an
opportunity to freeze overnight and into the early AM resulting in
areas of black ice. Areas along and north and west of the
Interstate 85 corridor have the greatest risk of black ice
forming. Counties and communities just to the south and east of
Interstate 85 may see some patchy black ice.

Across far Northwest GA and the North GA mountains, as the cold
front pushes in behind the storm system this evening, rain could
change to light freezing rain, sleet or snow. Any accumulations
are expected to be very light, however with temperatures falling
into the 20s, some roads may become icy from winter precipitation
or the refreezing of water on roadways previously mentioned.


Persons in these areas should remain alert, monitor the latest
conditions and be prepared patchy black ice through the early AM.
